Add on for creating a macro

Unread post by floatingkeyboards » 2019-01-19, 20:48

I need a Macro to log into bank websites and navigate to the statement download page.

Is there an add-on available that lets me create macros?

The extension iMacros for Firefox looks like it should do this.
(I can't speak from experience, haven't used it; someone who has might wish to chime in.)

It can be found in both of the archives
(Classic Add-ons Archive and LegacyCollector).

Thanks, this is on the right track. However, I don't see any change to the Pale Moon GUI after I add the add-on. The instructions say,
"After you installed the iMacros extension in your browser you will see the iMacros icon in the toolbar, which is used to open the iMacros sidebar."
about 1/3 of the way down the page, here https://wiki.imacros.net/Webextensions

So, the add-on seems to not work with Pale Moon.

Guess I should email them and tell them to make it work with Pale Moon. Lol, jk.

The page you linked is the instructions for the WebExtension version of their extension, and Pale Moon does not support WebExtensions.

The page you should be looking at is here ...

https://wiki.imacros.net/iMacros_for_Firefox_Legacy

... and that page implies that the version of iMacros that would work with Pale Moon would be version 8. It looks like the most recent version 8 in the archives is iMacros 8.9.7. Have you tried that version?

Confused newb here.
the site that you link to, links to a supposed download page, here
"Download from iMacros @ Mozilla Addons"
That site talks about versions 10.x and there is another link that talks about versions 9.x and older.
https://wiki.imacros.net/iMacros_for_Fi ... on_History

The version that I got (by following the link in this thread) is version 0.5.0.1
I have to assume that that's the wrong version because nothing shows up in the gui after I add it. There should be a visible icon in the Pale Moon menu.

I am unsure which version to try or how to further research an answer.

You presumably got that from LegacyCollector. That page has a long list of xpi's in ascending numerical order (top to bottom). Version 8.9.7 is near the bottom.

Thanks, great help in this thread.

I installed the version that you recommended. I don't see any red flags to indicate that it's not working.
I will try it out later and report back as to whether it's working.

Off-topic:

Note that that happens to be the case for iMacros, but that is not always the case.
Is actually an ascii sort, so something like http://legacycollector.org/firefox-addo ... index.html is not in "order".
