Video downloaders that work in Pale Moon

Greetings, and Happy New Year to all who celebrate it.

I have been using Easy YouTube Video Downloader Express, but it is clearly losing functionality. I realize that upgrading to their Pro version is one option, but before I do, I am curious about what tools other PM 28 users use to download YouTube and other videos.

Anyone?

Ant Video Downloader 2.4.7.50 has been my go to downloader for awhile now.
Just start the video in the quality you want to download and hit the taskbar icon.
You do need ffmpeg for it to work though. ;)

Thanks everyone. I chose NetVideoHunter, installed from the Classic Archive. (I wasn't sure whether I might encounter problems installing from the SeaMonkey page.)

Somewhere on this forum is a link to Flash video downloader version 2.02 that works well.
Trouble is it takes me ages to find the right thread, so I always keep a copy on my disk.
I hope its allowed but Ive uploaded it as an attachment..
It seems to be a modified version for Palemoon

thx for that PaulN, on youtube it's sometimes greyed out with no function for some videos, but it's better than no option at all.

many thanks to 'Legacy Collector ' who has put many addons in an easily accessible site

http://legacycollector.org/firefox-addons/

Latest ANT is there too :) , as the authors site seems to be untouched since 2017...  :silent:
NO problems with FFMPEG, if it cannot see it, it will download it for you automatically

I wanted to briefly comment on this.

At a local university, they have online streaming of video lectures.

Since it is a bit cumbersome to show this in the browser, I found it much more
convenient to play it locally via mpv. For this I needed an extension that
allows me to easily download such a video.

When I was searching for this via google, I came to some old threads
where the suggested solution would not work; or work in a good way.

I think in the long run it would help if we could have some wiki-like
area, or something like that, where people who may have contributed
to palemoon in some way, say, useful forum posts (:D), could add
this wiki. And then, on that community-moderated wiki, we could
maintain it to have accurate up-to-date information. It is a bit frustrating
to try to search for new extensions and find out that chrome and
firefox are sort of the first listed as a result by search engines.

Disclaimer: I'm speaking here as a bystander imaging wearing the shoes of a member of the dev team and forum team.

You could also search the forum instead of browsing and looking at sticky posts only. If I recall there was at least one topic about the same subject where people provides alternatives to get what you want. There is no working extension for video ripping. Deal with it.

The problem is that -straightforward said- ripping videos from websites is a grey area and nowadays it shifts more to the darker due successful lobbying from the copyright-&-patent industry.

For the sake of Pale Moon not being dubbed as a piracy tool (which comes with additional difficulties) and to retrain their neutral stance on this matter, the dev team and forum team won't help you. Also I think providing information (via wiki) for video ripping or similar is not within the scope of a web browser.
