Youtube videos not playing in 28.x.x

Hello,

For some reason I can't play Youtube videos since upgrading to any 28+ version. I have no problems in any 27.x.x version. I had to go back to 27.9.4. The videos just spin for a while, and then I get an error message like "If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device"

Anyone have any ideas? I hate to run an old version.

From what you describe, it sounds like autoplay might be disabled in PM 28.
If you click on the player twice (before the error message appears) does the video start?

Open about:config - make sure that media.autoplay.enabled is set to true

(Changes were made to PM's autoplay settings from 27 to 28. The setting media.autoplay.allowscripted was removed.
If by chance you had that one set to true, but media.autoplay.enabled set to false, it would have enabled autoplay in YouTube in PM 27, but not in PM 28.)

When you reverted back to version 27.9.4 from version 28x, I hope you made a new profile in 27x because if you haven't, you're now working with a corrupted profile in (27.9.4). Profiles are not backwards compatible from 28x to 27x. It will cause problems which will eventually show up. See the link below and read New Tobin Paradigm's comment.

I see that message, but if I click the play/pause button twice, the video will play. Have you tried doing that?

Yes. I use YouTube Lazy Load. I hate it when videos autoplay as soon as the page loads.

It was in fact the media.autoplay setting. Thanks so much for the help!!!

I though I read all of the release notes, but somewhere I must have missed the part about the behavior changing.

I go on false and for some reason the videos doesn't load. When I turn on the autoplay the video plays. I'm with Windows 7
