Question about Quickdial Thumbnails

Unread post by SamSpeed » 2018-10-13, 07:11

I like the quickdial page -- very handy.

There are a couple of sites however, that show up blank on my system. That is. there is no image representing the site. One is -- https://drudgereport.com/. It shows up as a blank rectangle with the site's name at the bottom, and the link is fully functional.

Most sites show a 'snapshot' of the page as last visited, and that provides me a reminder of the last visit. Nice.

But why do some show up blank?

Not all websites can be captured and rendered the way the background page thumbnail service does it. Some will simply not display, others will take too long for the service and it gives up.

Hey they all show up all of a sudden. I had two thumbnails that were blank and now all of a sudden this morning they all look just fine. Some one deserves a big thank you!
