Web page redirecting and web page links opening by themselves

I have noticed that when I am on a page some of the links open by themselves. I have only noticed this on one webpage, slickdeals.net. I would be on a page of that website that is listing out a whole bunch of products and around the time that I click on one product (which is a hyperlink), another product page would open in a new tab (in addition to the page that I wanted to open). This has happened about 5-7 times so it's probably not a misclick by me. But, there is the slim chance that it was a misclick by me, or due to bad code on the web page.

Today, I was on one webpage and I pasted the website address for another web page into the address bar, using "paste and go." However, it would just reload the current webpage instead. The web pages in question are very low traffic web pages (small, specialized audience), so I am not posting the URLs right now. After restarting Pale Moon, it worked fine. I also tried on another computer and it did not "misbehave."

I am also having some other computer problems, so I might as well mention those, too.
Browsers and explorer windows are very slow to open, mainly during a period from when I first boot up my computer. Turbo tax was slow, too, even when it shouldn't be connecting to outside servers (seems like it would be past the time when it needs to check for updates, though maybe it's connecting for some reason or another). It seems as though the less web reliant technologies don't have much of a problem (Excel, for example).

I have also upgraded several parts in my computer over the years (basically everything except for motherboard, CPU, and DVD drive).

I did a scan with Malwarebytes & that did not turn up any threats.

I think I figured out the issue that I described in the first paragraph of my post.
I use a thinkpad trackpoint keyboard and the way that I scroll up or down on web pages I think also causes a mouse button click (left mouse button, I think). So, if the cursor arrow is over a hyperlink at the moment when I start scrolling, then it opens the webpage from the hyperlink in a new tab.
