For a better experience on Facebook, update your browser....
Latest message seen sprawled across the top of my facebook.
Got rid of it using element hider in adblock latitude.
Note: This appeared above my facebook groups, but not my newsfeed, for whatever that means, if anything...

Thanks for sharing, but what do you expect us to do about it?

Uh, well nothing, as I posted the fix as well.Moonchild wrote:Thanks for sharing, but what do you expect us to do about it?
Geez dude, just trying to help.

I think you completely misread my replyRickkins wrote:Geez dude, just trying to help.
Unfortunately your "fix" isn't really a fix, it's just ignoring the problem.

Misreading relies is kinda my specialty.Moonchild wrote:I think you completely misread my replyRickkins wrote:Geez dude, just trying to help.

As for ignoring the problem, I'm kinda ok with that. If I can't see it, then it doesn't bother me and thus doesn't impact me in any way. This way I, and anyone else affected can sit back and wait for whatever fix comes along.

No such message on the groups page here (or any other FB page) with ABL on or off.. I also have my UAM set to Native.

I took a picture....

I can confirm this message starting from today, but there is no impact on Fb functioning. Same mesage appear also on other browser ( Opera e.g) if you change the User agent. Facebook owners are just iidiots and not only for this thing.

Changing to Native didn't make a difference. Still seeing it on both. FB tends to roll out "features" to groups at a time, not to everyone at once.rabnbeinn wrote:No such message on the groups page here (or any other FB page) with ABL on or off.. I also have my UAM set to Native.
Funny coincidence though, the news is full of a Facebook vulnerability originally announced as affecting 50 million users, allowing account takeover with an additional 40 million reportedly now warned. So, anyone think they would be using a more secure browser with Chrome and FF? No way!
Edit to add:
If any of your non-Pale Moon friends are doubters as to the security comparison of Pale Moon with Firefox and Chrome, show them these pages:
Mozilla Firefox : CVE security vulnerabilities, versions and detailed reports -- 304 so far in 2018
Google Chrome : CVE security vulnerabilities, versions and detailed reports -- 23 so far in 2018
Palemoon Pale Moon : CVE security vulnerabilities, versions and detailed reports -- only 1!

Re: For a better experience on Facebook, update your browser....
I have gotten that bar for a long time on facebook. I just ignore it. If it bugs you, switch your user agent and it goes away.

Sorry but this is a really bad suggestion.Kramy wrote:If it bugs you, switch your user agent and it goes away.
By doing so you harm the browser you use by lowering its market share artificially.
