Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
Latest PM X64.
The web console shows no data, worked fine on 27.9.4 with the same profile.
New profile shows no change.
Also the bookmarks toolbar context menu is grey out, if I open a new window, the context in the new window works.
Not sure whats going on.
thanks

Re: Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
It's working just fine for me. Does it work for you in Pale Moon's safe mode? Or with a new clean profile?cartel wrote:any way to restore the Webconsole?

Here is 28.2.2 and 27.9.4 with absolutely clean profiles.Nigaikaze wrote:It's working just fine for me. Does it work for you in Pale Moon's safe mode? Or with a new clean profile?cartel wrote:any way to restore the Webconsole?
I can refresh the page and see webconsole works in 27 but the same does nothing in 28.

Not sure what's happening on your end, but - as I said - works for me with PM 28.2.2:

Re: Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
I'm getting the same thing as cartel. I'm on Linux if that matters.
Re: Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
I am also on Linux and have not seen this issue.

I hope each app uses its own profile, not common to both? Providing the troubleshooting information would also be helpful.cartel wrote:Here is 28.2.2 and 27.9.4 with absolutely clean profiles.
Try to open Error Console first, clear it, then start Web Console and check for any errors.I can refresh the page and see webconsole works in 27 but the same does nothing in 28.

Re: Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
I see the same thing as Cartel. (Win 7 x86)
In PM 28.2.2 the web console didn't display any urls of sites making requests, but in 27.9.4 they were displayed.
Tried with new profiles on PM 28.2.2 and PM 27.9.4, on three pages:
1) PM firstrun page; 2) this forum post; 3) a heavy site: amazon.com
The error console was cleared before refreshing the page and checking the web console.
Web console on PM firstrun pg. Web console on PM forum post. Web console on Amazon.com.

In Pale Moon 28.x, this type of log must first be enabled:
Sorry, but I thought it's obvious

Thank you very much, that solved it (for me).

Not obvious to "home-user-me" (I haven't poked around in the web console much).
Edit: added: '(for me)'

You are welcome. Let's hope the topic starter's problem has the same origin.
Re: Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
There is a reason that these are tools for web developers - a certain level of own initiative and prior knowledge and a desire to learn the tools you are working with (instead of assuming defaults will always remain the same and are a perfect match of what you happen to want to monitor) is pretty much a prerequisite.coffeebreak wrote:Not obvious to "home-user-me"

Re: Webconsole dead, context for favorites toolbar greyed out
I think what JustOff is asking you is, when you do that, what errors (if any) do you see in the Error Console?helloimustbegoing wrote:Did it, still get empty Web Console.JustOff wrote:

Yep, and for the Moon's sake post your Troubleshooting Information!
The details about your distro and the source of the Pale Moon package (official, stevepusser's, etc.) will be useful as well.
