should I replace 32-bit with 64-bit and how?
Hi - I was searching for the answer but couldn't find it so I am asking... Please can somebody tell me:
My system as 64 bit (AMD).
Currently I'm using 32-bit Pale Moon version 27.7.2, but I have some problems, e.g. some captchas don't work. So I thinks I need to update to the latest version. Should I continue with the 32-bit or should I switch to 64-bit?
How to do the switch from 32-bit to 64? Will it will keep all may configs and add-ons?

You don't have to. The 32 bit version will run just fine on 64 bit. If you want to, you can uninstall the 32 bit version, which you can do without deleting your profile (config, add-ons, bookmarks, etc.), and then install the 64 bit version.

I apologize I updated my original entry, but the questions are still valid...
Thanks for your answer. I will keep 32-bit as you recommend, but just for the future, uninstalling the 32-bit version without deleting my profile - how is it done?

Been a while since I used the uninstaller, but it shouldn't delete your data unless you specifically select the option to do so (if it even presents that option).
That said, it's always a good idea to back up your profile before any kind of upgrade. See here, just replace "Mozilla" and "Firefox" with "Moonchild Productions" and "Pale Moon".

You may lose some of the plugins you have now in the 64 bit PM and there are many extensions that will only work in 32 bit.

On my win 7 Adobe Reader and Silverlight was both lost along with VLC player since it was installed as 32 bit.
As for addons Print pages to PDF 0.5.0.2.1 will only work on 32 bit Pm and there are others.

Yes of course, you need to install the 64-bit versions.billmcct wrote:On my win 7 Adobe Reader and Silverlight was both lost along with VLC player since it was installed as 32 bit.
AFAIC, if you have a 64-bit OS, you should stick with 64-bit software whenever it's available.
When you eliminate the need of having to go through the OS's 32-bit compatibility layer, things will run slightly faster (at least in theory).

Re: should I replace 32-bit with 64-bit and how?
Adobe Reader DC only installs 32 bit. The Silverlight installed with win 7 install was 32 bit. Had to update to Silverlight 5.1 to use in PM 64 bit. Adobe Reader is a must have for me to use Print pages to PDF 0.5.0.2.1 so I simply went back to PM 32 bit.
