Website log-in problems in W7 PM 28 and Basilisk..

Unread post by f-117 » 2018-08-27, 13:23

I am having problems logging into this site https://mydatajack.com/managementconsole/login.aspx? using PM-28, Basilisk and Waterfox on W7. There is no problem using PM 27.9.4. Here is what happens...

When I enter my log-in info and click "Sign In" the "username and password" fields then just go blank and nothing happens. No error message or anything. But the URL address changes to this : https://mydatajack.com/managementconsole/login.aspx?invalid=t1. Notice the end of the URL says invalid=t1. I have no idea what this means from a server point of view. My account username/password are correct and work fine in PM-27.9.4.

This problem persists in PM 28, Basilisk and Waterfox, but NOT in PM 27.9.4.

I wish I had an idea of what the "invalid=t1" error was.

Scott

P.S.

I get the same problem in safe mode and with a new profile as well. No change.

Have you tried logging into the site using Firefox? If you can login with Firefox, then the site is probably using user agent sniffing. Just a guess on my part.

Any change if you restart in Safe Mode?

On my end, without a valid login/pw, the URL remains as the original, & I get (expectantly):
Login Error

I tried this useragent overide:
general.useragent.override.mydatajack.com
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0

Did nothing.

No problem here with PM 28 x64-bit on Win7, except I don't have an account there. :)
I checked with the default UserAgent.

I tried it with and without a useragent.overide in PM 28, Basilisk and Waterfox. Still no change. I don't have a useragent.overide for this in PM 27.9.9 and the username/password fields work fine.

I'm not too sure this is a useragent problem though.

As a test, create a new, clean Profile.
Open PM.
Try to log in.

As you can see from my above post, it's definitively not an UserAgent issue.
default UserAgent = Pal Moon's UserAgent right out-of-the-box
If I'm not mistaken "t1" is an error code for failed log-in and was probably triggered by your browser.

Then what would be the difference between logging in using PM 27.9.4 and the other browsers I mentioned/tried? If it is the browser, then there has to be something in there config that is triggering the "invalid=T1" error.

Just to let you know, I do get the "red" error when I try to enter a wrong password (as a test).

I have tried a new, clean profile in PM28, Waterfox and Basilisk. Also ran in safe mode. No change, still get the "invalid=T1" URL.

Or a bug in PM 28?

For the case someone knowledgeable will chime in, you should also mention your OS and if 32 or 64-bit.

Make a copy of your 27 Profile.
Then open PM 28 in that copy.

Attempt your login.

Just to let you know I am using Win 7 64-Bit.

Just for fun I tried logging in using IE11, FF59 and 60. Same result, nothing.

Well, I tried customer support and they could not help me on their (server) end...

"SCOTT, Our Development team states that they have tested your Account and there shouldn't be any problem with it. Its working fine and logging in with the same username and password. It can be the reason of internet. As we don't show any problem on our end. And we don't have any other complaint about not able to login as well. Thanks. Customer Support."

So, I'm back to square one again.

This means it is not an error in the browser.
What did their customer support test with? Did they also test with IE or Firefox, or did they test with Chrome?

Just to let you know, I went through my Firefox archive and had to install FF 50 in order to fix this log-in problem. No other FF version after that worked.

I'm using PM 28.2.0 for regular "surfing" and FF 50 for logging into the Datajack/login website.

A pain, but it works for me.

Just to let you all know, the latest Basilisk version (2019.03.27) seems to have solved this problem.

I have not downloaded the latest PM (28.4.1) yet, but here's to hoping it fixes the problem.... (PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE..)
