Easiest way to copy passwords only
Hi. I forget how to do this. I want to copy just the passwords from one PM 28 and move them to another PM 28 that is on another laptop - not the whole profile. Can i just copy key3.db and logins.json from one pm and paste it to the profile of the other pm replacing the ones it has? Thanks.

Re: Easiest way to copy passwords only
Sounds like a plan.
Backup first.
Backup first.
Re: Easiest way to copy passwords only
Okay thanks.
I thought this was the way but when I did a quick search it brought up a related Moonchild tutorial that mentions saving passwords but refers to a signons.sqlite instead of logins.json. I don't see this signons.sqlite anywhere in profile. I guess this is outdated info and needs to be updated:

Yes, over time the particular files used have changed.

That's cool too, thank you. I'm going to mark this as solved but I think I'll PM MC about outdated info.
Thank guys.

Re: Easiest way to copy passwords only
To copy the passwords, you need key3.db for the encryption keys and logins.json for the actual passwords.
Re: Easiest way to copy passwords only
The backup add-on FEBE also offers the option to restore elements instead of the whole profile including passwords (and usernames) only. Always nice to have FEBE handy using Pale Moon.
Re: Easiest way to copy passwords only
copying files from the palemoon folder may seem to be easy, (note even FEBE basically does this..)
* * B U T !! palemoon changes, and you may find things DO NOT WORK!! (this happened to me, lucky I had backed up the *whole* PM folder before updating )

I copied and pasted key3.db and logins. json over to the profile of the other PM 28 browser and it worked fine. Took less than 2 minutes.
