PM 28 does not support Vista.

I didn't see that information in the release notes. Are you sure about that?

Yes. Plenty of recent forum posts, inc from the dev.

The search box is pretty good.

Funny you say that but in researching the site I found another post that said to reinstall the update, so I did and it seems to be working just fine....with 64 bit Vista...

Excellent. Nice one.

I s'pose one of my sources was this post in a vista thread:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19524&p=147650&hilit=Vista#p147650

But if you've got it working, all the better.

though some Vista users are still unable to install nor update to PM 28 like this guy.
perhaps askgj should help that guy out on getting PM 28 to run on his Vista computer

maybe latest kernel security updates for vista (from early 2017) are needed

I have continued to update Vista with available files beyond when they originally said they were going to update. I also am running Vista Home Premium 64 bit service pack 2. I hope to delay upgrade as long as possible - HATE windows 10 :D

I was using Vista x64 Ultimate SP2 several months ago and may need to update it soon (hmm, askgj you are using Vista HP and have not upgraded to Vista Ultimate?)

then again, I'll wait for a PM 28 bug fix release like either 28.0.1 or 28.1.0 - still some kinks in v28 to work out

I am running it on an HP system but I'm not sure if it's an HP version of vista. I think I purchased it from MS - It's Vista "Home Premium" 64 bit, sp2.

it looks like you are using a retail version of Vista home premium if it was bought directly from Microsoft. product ID in system properties will tell the difference between retail and OEM versions

running that edition of Vista feels between mediocre and average (at best) during these recent times.

I don't settle for less, askgj. I settle for the best version of Vista in modern times and that is Vista Ultimate x64 edition (which has group policy [gpedit.msc], complete backup & restore image feature, windows fax & scan, supports up to 128Gb of RAM > that's gigs and much more; home premium x64 supports up to 16Gb of RAM & no more)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Vista Ultimate does support 128 GB of ram memory, but this memory number is solely predicated on the motherboard. So if the motherboard on that computer running Vista Ultimate only supports up to 16 GB, that is all that Vista Ultimate can handle on that computer.
