Video Problems

Unread post by NigelUK » 2018-08-15, 14:54

Hi - being unable to play some video (Twitter, eg), I found this on the Forum -

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17443#p127757

The answer from Tenseys (@ Mon, 20 Nov 2017, 21:28) would seem to be what I need, but I have one question - will removing "HEVC Video Extensions from the Device Manufacturer" adversely affect watching any other type of video (in any browser)?

Apologies if this is a "silly" question, but I'm really not too clued-in :( :?

Pale Moon 28 will be release soon and should not be affected by this issue. I'd recommend waiting until 28 is released and try again.

trava90 - thank you very much for that, I'll do as you suggest. :)

For peace of mind though, do you (or anyone else) know the answer to my question?

The official Windows builds has already been compiled, and I've been using it since this morning.
Impatient users can download it from the official mirrors, simply by editing the download links. :)

I don't use Windows but to my knowledge nobody has reported any adverse effects from removing the HEVC Extensions.

Which in some cases may give you a version that is broken.

No worries, I always recheck the file sizes, after the official announcements.

Been using it all day, and it runs smooth as silk!

Thanks for all the replies - I'll wait for the notice that a new version is available, else knowing me I'd end up breaking something :)

Any word on when PM 28 will be released? I’m willing to give PM another chance, 100%, after that whole Google News debacle. Seems like other people have had issues with Google News, too, so I know I’m not the only one. Thanks!

When the release notes have been written, I'd imagine.
Which is probably no small task in itself.
