Bookmark Icons Don't Show..........

Hi, I wanted to know why most of the b'arks on the bar are displayed by a generic globe-like icon rather than the 'real', identifiable one???? I'd be grateful if you help me deal with this........ I looked about for other posts on this issue but I couldn't see anything that I thought was the same.......... I also saw something about 'hiding' the t'shooting info so as not to take up too much space........... I'm not sure if what I've done is what was asked for???? I did try, though, ignorance accounts for any failure with that....... + much else where pc's are concerned....... I tried, is what I'd like to make clear.......

Any bookmarks I place on the Bookmarks Toolbar show the actual websites icon whether I'm using linux or windows Pale Moon. The only time I've seen the globe like generic icon is when someone has been using Firefox and transferred their Firefox bookmarks over to Pale Moon.

Once the site has been visited using Pale Moon, the actual icon of the website shows up. Might be different in your case, but this is all I know since I've only seen the generic globe like icon once on someone else's computer.

The only place I see the world globe icon is in the identity box on the address bar, not anywhere else. On the tabs and on the bookmarks toolbar, I see generic bookmark icons which do not look like world globes. I do not want favicons, so I blocked them.

Not all sites have favicons (which is the icon displayed in the bookmarks toolbar/menu). When you load a page, the icon shown in the tab should be the one that appears in the bookmarks toolbar and menu. If you created a new bookmark manually (right click on the toolbar -> New Bookmark) but haven't visited that site yet, the favicon may not load until you do visit that site.

If the favicons still aren't displaying correctly, you can try restarting the browser in safe mode (Help -> Restart in Safe Mode). This will temporarily disable all of your add-ons. If favicons work correctly in safe mode, then it's being caused by one of those and you can use trial and error to figure out which one. You can exit safe mode by restarting the browser normally, and all of your add-ons will automatically re-eneable.

Thanks for the replies, people, appreciate you taking the time..........
I restarted in Safe Mode, but it made no difference....... I tried Favicon Reloader, too, at least I think I did???
The absence of any instruction explains my uncertainty......... understanding the add-on is presumed to be innate, it seems, or it's thought to be so glaringly obvious only a complete moron wouldn't get it?.....?....... In Japan, a can of cola has written, + pictorial instructions, ensuring the illiterate don't go thirsty....... In 'PC World' they'd be spitting feathers, I think it fair to say........ information, in I.T., is often not forthcoming......
The icons in tabs are always displayed correctly, the b'arks bar is another story, which is annoying as they're right there, plus the fact that some display OK + some don't....... 6 do, 7 don't, to be precise......
Any more suggestions???

I tried Favicon Reloader quite some time ago in Waterfox; it did nothing. The problem eventually got resolved somehow without my efforts as I recall. Other than this, sorry, I can't help.
