How can I copy the history from Firefox DE 60.0b9 to PM 27.92 (64-bit)?
How can I copy the history from Firefox Developers Edition 60.0b9 to PM 27.92 (64-bit)? I have been using Palemoon for years now and I want to make it my main browser. It does what I used to love Firefox for doing when it comes to my favorite addons. I am running Windows 8.1 Enterprise if that helps. If there is another thread topic on this matter please merge this thread with that one and I will read through it. I just couldn't find one already active using the search option. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if you can.
History in Firefox 60 can't be exported separately, and I'm not sure if there's an external tool available for this, considering Firefox 60 only supports WebExtensions that won't run on Pale Moon.

Thanks for the reply. I guess for now I'll just copy links over until I have everything unless someone knows a way I can do it in one sweep.

Why keep the history when you can bookmark all that stuff? It is easy to transfer bookmarks.

Please be aware that history is transitional. It will not keep your entries forever and sites you have not visited frequently enough will get purged.

Really? Huh, I didn't know this. Wouldn't it be simpler and more expected to just keep a list of visited URLs, and not remove entries that aren't frequently visited?Moonchild wrote:Please be aware that history is transitional. ...Actually, it seems that I can't modify it at all, not even to lower it. Why is this, and why is the preference labelled as user set?
Edit: I just realized that the pref I'm looking at is called places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages, and the one previously mentioned does not seem to exist.
Yeah, the maximum seems to be 104858 in PM 27.9.0 on macOS and 89622 in PM 28.0.0a2 (2018-05-28) on Windows.Moonchild wrote:This will not work.adesh wrote:places.history.expiration.max_pages;100000000000000000

The only choices for about:config settings are "default" and "user set", and that is set by the software, but not a default.SpockFan02 wrote: ...Actually, it seems that I can't modify it at all, not even to lower it. Why is this, and why is the preference labelled as user set?

But how is this setting decided?Goodydino wrote:The only choices for about:config settings are "default" and "user set", and that is set by the software, but not a default.SpockFan02 wrote: ...Actually, it seems that I can't modify it at all, not even to lower it. You can install Expire History by Days 1.2.1. You'll need to use the Moon Tester Tool to install it or private message me and I can send you the converted installer .xpi file.SpockFan02 wrote: ...Actually, it seems that I can't modify it at all, not even to lower it. It is not a default setting, therefore it is user set because there are only 2 choices.SpockFan02 wrote:But how is this setting decided?Goodydino wrote:The only choices for about:config settings are "default" and "user set", and that is set by the software, but not a default.SpockFan02 wrote: ...Actually, it seems that I can't modify it at all, not even to lower it. I understand that for any given preference, it is marked as either 'default' or 'user set.' What I don't understand is, how is it set? What sets it? Why can it not be changed?Goodydino wrote:It is not a default setting, therefore it is user set because there are only 2 choices.SpockFan02 wrote:But how is this setting decided?Goodydino wrote:The only choices for about:config settings are "default" and "user set", and that is set by the software, but not a default.SpockFan02 wrote: ...Actually, it seems that I can't modify it at all, not even to lower it. The browser itself has control over some of the settings, so that is what sets those. How? I have no idea.
