What specific errors are you getting? What OS? What version of Pale Moon? What extensions are you using?

I was able to search successfully using the search field at the top of the main www.homedepot.ca page the first time I tried. In other words, works for me.

I use Homedepot all the time -- here are the results for a "hammer" search using the URL you are having problems with: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/search.html?q=hammers

I typically use https://www.homedepot.com/ instead of http://www.homedepot.ca --- not sure why the first URL works for you but the second URL does not....

Note: http://www.homedepot.ca redirects to this URL: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home.html --- is that the case for you as well?

Btw, I can use https://www.homedepot.com/ and set my profile to where ever area I want it to be so I'm not sure what the benefit of "https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home.html" happens to be. :?

We'll need answers to the questions posted above....

Does it still happen if you restart Pale Moon in safe mode and then try accessing the site? Or if you access the site with a new fresh profile?

First test again using Pale Moon in Safe Mode ("Help">"Restart in Safe Mode...", select "Continue in Safe Mode" and see if this helps (I am suspicious of "Flagfox" or possibly Permit Cookies" interfering with redirect to Https... If this doesn't help then try doing a test again using a fresh Pale Moon Profile -- I suspect this will resolve the problem if Safe Mode does not.

Question: when you get this error what do you see at the beginning of the address bar? Is it "http://...." or is it "https://...."?

Tried running in Safe Mode, site came up when URL homedepot.ca entered, did a search on "toilet", got access denied message again.
After the "Access Denied" screen, went back to homedepot.ca again and cannot open the site at all. I get the following message. (Still in safe mode)
"Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.homedepot.ca/en/home.html" on this server.

Reference #18.b4ae7c41.1524170811.2f5fd8c "

homedepot.ca continues to work correctly in Firefox, Edge, and Chrome.

Tried homedepot.ca in another computer (Same House). Same results "Access Denied" in Pale Moon, normal and Safe mode.

Here is a link describing other people who have had this same problem even with Home Depot as in your case: Getting blocked from certain websites.

What Internet Service provider are you using?

As suggested -- you could try resetting your modem connection.

I had a problem with an alternate Start-Page I have that was completely blocked until I reset my modem connection after which the site worked fine again (btw, my ISP does happen to be AT&T).

If no help with that -- you still have not tested Pale Moon using a "clean" Profile.

My service provider is Eastlink. www.eastlink.ca

I tested Pale Moon on another computer, with a clean profile. Same problem.

I will reset the modem a bit later (other people using now) and report.

I reset the modem, no change in the problem.

However.......... If I block the "cookies"(Cookie Blocker Add-on) in homedepot.ca site only, I no longer get the following error below. (All homedepot cookies deleted prior to blocking)
" Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/search.html?" on this server.
Reference #18.4f2c1ab8.1524111114.16cac82 "

With the cookies blocked, the search function in homedepot.ca returns a quick search as you type, however, when you click on the search icon it requires 2 to 5 clicks on the search before it reacts.

I tried multiple searches in homedepot.ca with cookies blocked and all the searches work correctly, except multiple clicks on search required to actually have search work.

I turned off the blocking of cookies for homedepot.ca and searches continue to work.
However, now "select store" no longer works.
I deleted the cookie block add-on and searches continue to work and store selector still does not work. (Returns a blank transparent screen) Need to refresh the screen to get out.

Manually removing homedepot cookies has no effect on store selector not working.

A "Refresh of Pale Moon", corrects the "select store" problem.

A "Refresh of Pale Moon", disables the search function in homedepot.ca and returns the error.......
" Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/search.html?" on this server.
Reference #18.4f2c1ab8.1524111114.16cac82 "

Homedepot.ca continues to work with no issues on Firefox.

The fact that you did the following: "I tested Pale Moon on another computer, with a clean profile. Same problem." -- would suggest that the problem may not with Pale Moon actually but perhaps something else that both computers are uniquely using that is impacting the rendering of this site specifically in regards to Pale Moon. Which is why I had suggested doing an ISP connection reset --- but unfortunately you have reported that this did not help either.

Considering that a clean profile (on another computer) has the same problem :eh: --- can you let us know if both of these computers have the same type of security software i.e. Firewalls, Anti-Virus applications etc. or whatever else there might be involving any software that could potentially impact the rendering of websites?

In regards to whatever you can come up with you might try just loading this one Home Depot website with whatever security software both computers are using DISABLED to see if this makes a difference.

None of this behavior occurs in my case on a Home Depot website on Pale Moon and is presumably not the case for any other Pale Moon users as well -- so it would appear there is something unique on your end that would presumably be causing the problems with this website. At least that's how I see it at this point FWIW.....

One computer is using Avast Antivirus, Win 10 Pro, other computer using Windows Defender, Win 10 Pro.
Will do testing on Antivirus this evening.

Note: homedepot.com works without any problems.

If I delete all the "homedepot" cookies, the web site works for several searches, using various words. Then after 8 - 10 searches, all different, the problem reappears.
Deleting the cookies restores the search function, then the problem repeats.

I will try a fresh load of Windows on a third computer, everything generic and see how PM works then.
Thanks

The only thing in common between the two computers that have the same problem with Home Depot is Win 10 Pro --- so I'm at a loss as far as what the problem is that you are having with the Home Depot website. I am using Windows 7 with the Windows Firewall and Avast AV and 360 Total Security. I am using the Cookies Exterminator extension on my Pale Moon 27.9.0 32-bit browser and have Home Depot white-listed on Cookies Exterminator so never delete that websites cookies (as I remain logged-in to that site at all times) and have no issues.

Sorry, based on the information you have provided -- I have absolutely no clue as to what it is that might be causing your issue with this website. :eh:

^ Follow-up: Noting what is common between the two computers is Windows 10 Pro --- I thought I'd run this past you.

There is another topic that is discussing various issues that to this point nobody else is having and in that users case windows 10 is involved as well... What is interesting is that one poster has reported none of the problems discussed in that topic and IS running Windows 10 "fully updated" but interestingly is not running the current "official production" (stable) release but is instead running Pale Moon 27.9.1a1 64 bit --- which may be a promising finding.

Question: *Do you have a computer in your household that is NOT running Windows 10?

Also is it correct to say on the computers that are running Windows 10 that you have done the 1709 update on them that has been discussed in the other topic linked above?

*If you do have a NON-Windows 10 computer in your household -- does it have the same issues with the Home Depot website as the two computers that ARE running on Windows 10?

Update....

Computer # 2
Win 10 Pro - Version 1709 (Build 16299.371)
Pale Moon 27.9.0 (64 bit)
Windows 10 Defender Antivirus

Enter homedepot.ca URL, hit enter. Loads Home Depot home page
Click "Reload Current Page", it may reload the page, it may error;

"Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.homedepot.ca/en/home"

Continue to click "Reload Current Page" every few seconds (giving time to reload page), Various results from access denied, a corrupted page, to correct page, all in random order.
No need to a search to reproduce the problem, just reload the page several times.

Computer # 2
Win 7 Pro - Version 6.1 (Build 1706: SP1)
Pale Moon 27.9.0 (64 bit)
Avast Antivirus

Enter homedepot.ca URL, hit enter. Loads Home Depot home page
Click "Reload Current Page", it may reload the page, it may error;

Win 10 Pro - Version 1709 (Build 16299.402) FRESH LOAD OF WINDOWS 10 (Formatted Disk)
Pale Moon 27.9.0 (64 bit)
Windows 10 Defender Antivirus

Results identical to above...

Next step is to go to a friends house who's using a different ISP, load Pale Moon and try that.

I continue to use PM as my default browser, no issues on any other site. If I need to check something on Home Depot site I use Firefox.

Excellent idea  -- this will tell us if something in regards to your connection is causing the problem --- which I've been suspicious of all along -- but results have not supported this so far.... I'm expecting the problem will not occur on your friends computer using a different connection.

By chance, a good friend of my Son dropped by today. He is an internal IT specialist at a local ISP. (Not the one I am using)
I brought up the condition I was having with Pale Moon. He said show me.

At my place, he could readily reproduce the problem.

He then did a remote desktop to his computer at his work, installed Pale Moon x64 and connected to homedepot.ca. After about 5 page reloads on the home page, he reproduced the problem.
If he kept reloading the home page, 9homedepot.ca) all the various errors were encountered that I have.

THEN, he did a remote desktop to another computer connected to another ISP (Bell). Same deal, all problems were replicated.

So....... not my computer, not my ISP, not Citywide ISP, not Bell ISP. Doesn't leave much left.

In discussing why your end cannot reproduce the problem, he suggested that perhaps your setup was redirecting you to homedepot.com since you are on that side of the border. ??
homedepot.com works well, no problems.

Well then this is clearly a mystery.... I opened the link you posted: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home.html just now into a new tab and the URL I have after the tab opened and the page loaded is the same: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home.html and once again I did my "hammers" search and had no problems.....

So thinking I'll try a couple of more searches after the "hammers" search (screen-shot not done for 'hammers" but it was fine) which was "ladders" and then "lawn mowers" I got what I would expect as illustrated below, first after a successful "hammer" search you can see in the first screen-snot my next "ladders" search results behind my next "lawn Mowers" search:
ladders in background.png
... and after clicking on the "search icon" I get the "Lawn Mowers" search results:
lawn mowers after clicking on search icon with this in search box.png
... so all looks well from my perspective as far as I can see.... don't know what to say.... literally did 10 page reloads of the last "lawn mowers" search and each and every time got the same exact page.

How for some reason you get virtually the same problem under just about every kind of different environment and yet I (and as far as I'm aware most if not all others) do not have a problem with this Home Depot page or the alternate Home Depot page for that matter is a total mystery...

One last question: What site are you using to install Pale Moon?

I'm seeing the same situation with the O'Reilly Auto Parts website, www.oreillyauto.com. It works okay with Chrome and IE, but with Pale Moon it gets the "Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://www.oreillyauto.com/search?" on this server. Reference #18.4cdc6068.1524747790.1aae0a0" error that is described above.

I'm running Windows-7 Pro 32-Bit with the latest Pale Moon. I also tried it with the "unstable" version of Pale Moon, with the same results.
