On my old, windows 7 computer, pale moon has a black background. Just installed it on a win10 computer, and it is pale grey, etc. Is there a way to get the old, black background back? Thank you.

What is the theme that you are using in Pale Moon?

Not sure if this is what you want (without more detailed information) but you can set background colors by going to "Preferences" and selecting the "Content" page via either the Pale Moon button or from "Tools" on the menu bar and follow the screen-shots below (click on "show" to see screen-shot examples):
Click on Colors
Click on Colors
Background color is available here (as you can see I use grey myself)

Were you talking about the interface or the content being black? If it is a black interface you want, there are some dark themes available. Right now I am using DarkPitch, and I also have Noia Moon with the extension Noia Moon Options that lets me set that theme with a black interface.
