Themed quick search box broken with 27.8.0 (32-bit) Topic is solved

I'm using a classic style theme (NASA Night Launch), but even though it's fairly old, so far the quick search widget worked as you would expect: press enter or click button, it opens on a new tab. The release notes did not directly mention any rework involving the quick search functionality.

With 27.8.0, this is no longer the case. Neither enter, nor actually clicking the search button next to it works. As I use it religiously, I've had to go back to 27.7.2 for now on my main PCs. (I do have it on one machine for testing.)

(Also, on every program exit, pale moon crashes with mozglue.dll. If this is the moon tester tool, It's the same old version 1.1.4, and I only have RES 4.6.1 installed. Again, new compatibiltiy problem.)

I've tried quite a few versions, the error remains the same: quick search box won't initiate a search when pressing enter / clicking the search icon.

Versions tried and their official compatibility:
0.6.20140217 - v24-28
0.6.20140901 - v28-33
0.6.20150510 - v31-39
0.6.20160329 - v38-56 (also: last release)

For what it's worth, I've been using the 0.6.20140217, but they all work, and apart from that old problem of the URL appearing doubled in the address bar, I can't remember any other problems.

Soooo, does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'm open to suggestions. I'm not an extension/theme-creator, meaning I'm only familiar with editing the install.rdf to pass version compatibility checks. If I can, I'd prefer to keep this theme instead of searching for something else. (I did it back when firefox still had a thriving classic theme community. I could not find one that was good enough.)

I'm not sure what was changed, but with the latest 27.9.0 version, this problem seems to have gone away. Marking as solved.
