Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
I'm not able to signon to google with PM (27.7.2 (64-bit)), it's working with Firefox.
Symptom is, select the google account, then goes to the password section.
It is 'greyed' out (actually white-ish out), with the orange line chaser flashing at the top.
So I can't click on the NEXT button.
Similarly if I select choose another account, similar results.
I haven't changed anything lately.
Cleared cache, deleted a bunch of google cookie, restarted PM.
Google may have changed somethig, but it isn't affecting Firefox.
I looked at various developer tools, nothing obviously wrong.
Any hints on what to look at?

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
Hello!
Actually I am reporting this trouble too. In my case if I clear cookies I am asking to validate or update my verification email in order to login in Gmail. This seems that maybe the UA (USer Agent) provided to Google is not of their like (surprise, surprise) and maybe a new value for would be needed in Google products. I think that maybe one that is more "common" may help like the overrides UA for facebook or youtube.

I post the link of another thread that have more info about you tube troubles and which UA can work: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18394

!
My UA, from Webtools Inspect Network Request, is:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/3.4 Firefox/52.9 PaleMoon/27.7.2
Only error in console is:
Content Security Policy: Couldn't parse invalid host 'strict-dynamic' <unknown>
This happens on first page load before entering email, so is probably not relevant.
I found a workaround, it is tedious the first time, It could be made into a Stylish script, or just don't logout...
a. enter your email address, click next.
b. right click the background, Inspect Element.
c. In Inspector
1. Find <div id=initialView"
2. find the <div after <footer (on my PC it is <div class="ANuIbb IdAqtf"...)
3. In the Rules pane, find the style/class .ANuIbb (ie from above in my case) click to add a CSS element, 'display:none !important'
d. You can now click the Next button and login.
I have no idea why it is whiteing-out the button.
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/3.4 Firefox/52.9 PaleMoon/27.7.2

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
I am not cofirming that, somtimes asking to validate too, but there was all time. I delete all loaded stuff including cookies everytime
Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
Do you have the Firefox compatibility setting added to the user-agent? I had problems with Google Maps until I added that. Now Google Maps is working fine.
Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
No problem with native user agent only - and no problem with my personal Google override, which is of course not recommended to use as it can create partly a breakage for example of Google mail
Can login without problems, all works normal - in use: unstable versions

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
I tried all three.
Interestingly, I just checked the headers & all three have identical UA's (via Web Developer/Network):
Perhaps a bug?
This is what Firefox has:
Win64 v:s WOW64??

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
They're all different for me:
Code: Select all
Native: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:3.4) Goanna/20180202 PaleMoon/27.7.2
Gecko: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:3.4) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/20180202 PaleMoon/27.7.2
Firefox: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/3.4 Firefox/52.9 PaleMoon/27.7.2
Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
1) try to delete ALL Google cookies... Youtube, Google general
2) Try a Firefox only user agent or my variant if you want to test a bit around
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.12; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.9
or
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:3.4) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/20180129 Version/10.1.2 Safari/603.3.8 PaleMoon/27.8.0a1
another variant would be using IE user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
Points to a Windows based issue??
Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
What i can say is that i had a time where i was driving with a Mac user agent only on my Windows Pale Moon without any serious issues, i even use for some special pages Safari overrides only.MichaelAtOz wrote:Points to a Windows based issue??
For example for everything Hotmail/Outlook/MSN related i use that here - without any annoying side-effects, even if i have Windows only machines: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/603.3.8 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.1.2 Safari/603.3.8
So, in my opinion - using a "non OS native user agent" is worth a risk or at least a try

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
Hmmm, I just installed the Add-On User Agent Override, and imported a large list of UAs.
It wasn't changing to the UA I selected, so I poked around and found this in About:Config: Is this the UA overrides provided by Pale Moon? So I need to override the override this way?

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
Looks like it is not UA related.
Via About:Config I tried various UAs, including the one from my Firefox & the first two of Sajadi's post. I confirmed the UA change via Wed Developer/Network.
No change to Google signin issue...
I'll try a Safe Mode next.

Damn (because the next step is going to be painful...), it works in Safe Mode.

Hmm.. guess you have most likely then one of that not recommended script-blocker add-ons? Do make more trouble than worth it.

You might start by looking at any ad/script/content blockers you use.
Gmail sign-in works fine for me now, but around a year ago (right when they rolled out their current sign-in system) I had problems similar to yours. In my case, it was from blocking some script(s) from gstatic.com. After making an adjustment in my adblocker everything was fine.

Re: Ayone else having Google (&youtube etc) signin problems?
Disabling uBlock was the first thing I tried.
Turns out to be (DAMN) the Toolbar Buttons Add-On...
I'll check it's setting.
Thanks everyone for the help along the way.

Well I'm not religious but I'll thank all the Gods, I couldn't survive without Toolbar Buttons.
Turns out the EDIT Animation Button /EDIT (pop-up text= "Stop Animated GIF's, Blink and Marquee tags") stuffs up the Google signin, I can live with out that.
Tho I'll mention it to the developer.
Edit/ Button also produces same issue on Firefox BTW /edit

For the record, I reported it here.
