Click-to-Play & Acrobat PDF Reader Plugin Problems

Post by darth123 » 2012-12-27, 16:17

I am having issues opening PDF files using the Adobe Reader 11 plugin with plugins.click_to_play enabled.

The gray "click to activate plugin" would show on the screen as expected, but once you click on it the PDF would not load (no menu bars, no download progress bar, just a white page)

I am not sure if this is a Pale Moon specific issue or something wrong with my profile. I have tried launching Pale Moon in Safe Mode with addons disabled with no luck.

The Click to Play feature works correctly in Firefox 17.0.1. I have the latest version of Pale Moon (15.3.2)

Welcome to the forum! :) Sorry it's not an instant fix I'm afraid, but these two recent topics are probably worth a read? Adobe Acrobat plugin not working: http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1769 & Viewing PDFs in the browser? http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1334
Several articles and reported problems on Mozilla Support eg: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use ... g&r=0&as=s that might give you some leads?

EDIT: Also see this mozillaZine topic: Click-to-play + Adobe Reader plugin - first reply links to a bug #747105.... which unfortunately sounds very much like your problem? This is marked as a duplicate of the "Flash click-to-play broken when opening swf directly" bug #736998 which was only fixed after Firefox 16, hence explaining your comment the Click to Play feature works correctly in Firefox 17.0.1? If this is the root cause of your problem it will probably only be fixed when the next Pale Moon major version is released. :(
