Broken: Solar Site not able to select "Year"

Unread post by CraigA » 2018-01-01, 16:59

Pale Moon 27.6.2 (64-bit) under Windows 10

When I try to select the "Year" box for "System Production", nothing shows in PM 27.6.2, the year just highlights.

Expected behavior is to see a drop down box for year selection.

You're correct. There is no drop down menu using linux Pale Moon (27.6.2). I tried it in both linux SeaMonkey and linux Firefox and there is a drop down menu.

I can also confirm this. In addition to those other browsers Night Wing mentioned, it also works correctly in Basilisk.

I wonder if a UA override would fix this issue? Another thought, what do you have compatibility mode set at? Mine is set at Gecko compatibility.

EDIT: Never mind about compatibility mode. I just tried in in Firefox compatibility mode and it still didn't work.

It doesn't.
At least FF 52 & FF 56 user agents didn't fix anything.

Console doesn't display anything useful here. Unknown at this point what the issue is -- as a workaround you can page through the months with previous and next.

No, that's not at all useful because that is browser internals you're looking at. The "drop down" elements on the page are constructed purely in absolutely-positioned html content elements (instead of using a select element as you normally would) which is completely unnecessary and (as shown) prone to quirks or errors you would not have with normal html elements.

Hate to say it but that site is a good example of how not to use html.

Looks like Pale Moon update 27.7.1 fixes/resolves this issue. It now works!
