How to set first tab to not display palemoon logo, and instead about:blank?

Unread post by pulp3894y » 2017-11-11, 09:11

I changed browser.newtab.url to about:blank in about:config, and now all new tabs are blank. But the first tab still has that palemoon logo. Can I set it to blank too?

Also, can I set the color of about:blank to gray? It hurts my eyes when I open new tab in the dark.

You want change the startpage, which can be configured in Pale Moon settings.

For the background, use that CSS in your usercontent.css:

Code: Select all

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

@-moz-document url("about:blank") {
html{background-color:grey !important;}
}

By the way, userContent.css should be in the profile folder and the "chrome" subfolder. If it doesn't exist, create it. Profile folder in portable version is in the User/Palemoon/Profiles/Default, but yours should be in AppData somewhere.

Also, I found these in my firefox folder, I just forgot where they were. They may be useful for somebody.

userContent.css

Code: Select all

/* Background for blank tab and Firefox startup blank page
before homepage loads...
see userChrome.css for background before clicked link page loads */
@-moz-document  url("about:blank") {
html { background-color: rgb(157, 157, 157) !important; }}
#newtab-scrollbox{background-color: rgb(157, 157, 157) !important;}
#newtab-window{background-color: rgb(157, 157, 157) !important;}

@-moz-document  url("about:newtab") {
html { background-color: rgb(157, 157, 157) !important; }}

/* added dickvls just because */
@-moz-document url-prefix(about:blank) {
* { background-color: rgb(157, 157, 157); }}
userChrome.css

Code: Select all

/* Blank background before clicked link page loads....
see userContent.css for blank tab and initial Firefox startup blank
before homepage loads */
tabbrowser tabpanels {
background-color: rgb(157, 157, 157) !important;
}
