Adobe probs

Unread post by truthseeker53 » 2017-10-12, 12:50

Running 64 bit desktop, just loaded new Pale Moon, got "Adobe Flash is required to listen to this station, but you don't appear to have it installed" message, reinstalled Flash, no help. What wrong?

After logging in, go to the User Control Panel. I think you'll find what you're looking for in the "Board preferences" tab, "Edit posting defaults."

okay helloimustbegoing understood  and clarified what you're asking about... You can edit the post in this topic and check the box as illustrated:
notify for forum.png
Or exactly as helloimustbegoing suggested you can set Notify upon replies be default globally using the setting in the forum control panel:
notify globally in the User Control Panel.png
by checking the box as illustrated in the screen-shot.

Okay, I tried your first link. I couldn't get it to work (but I did not get any kind of error message). So I created a new profile and tried it again, and this time it did work. So that probably means an add-on is blocking it from working. The only two I use that could be causing this are NoScript and uBlock Origin. Are you using either one?

I assume you're meaning NoScript and uBo. Try it in a clean profile anyway and see what happens.

In the top right hand corner, right after Notifications and Private Messages, click on your user name.

Might this be a problem with a 64bit browser and a 32bit plugin?

IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash (separate install) than the NPAPI version Pale Moon uses. Also, you're likely starting IE 32bit by default.

ETA: Maybe I'm going on old info and Adobe has a 64bit Flash Player now? There's a lot of unrelated items coming up when searching about this.

All works fine in Internet Explorer, only have the prob in Pale Moon. I've got both the Adobe deals. Went to Adobe help. In Pale Moon it says not installed, says installed in IE. I'm re? installing in PM, we'll see.

So if you go to the Pale Moon Add-ons page (Blue Pale Moon button>Add-ons or from menu bar Tools>Add-ons) and click on plugins then you do not see similar to this listed in plugins?:

Re??loaded the the NPAPI version and got things working again. THANX! Wonder why it "quit" after loading new PM?
Still can't stream http://v6.player.abacast.net/6508 but can their "sister" station http://v6.player.abacast.net/6509. It does same in IE.
Any suggestions?
Should I start another thread for this?

Thing says I don't have addons/plug ins installed?? Ran XP for many years, still trying to get 7 figgerd out. I despise Microsoft and the stream of totally un-needed "new" stuff and their info "theft".

Some Flash Player help sites that you might want to take a look at:

1) Flash Player Help (that includes a Check to see if Flash Player is installed properly on your computer).

2) Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier.

3) Flash Player Settings Manager Help.

Regarding 1) above, after doing a Flash Player installation check my results are:
