Earlier today after updating to 15.3 I noticed that my browser was freezing randomly when I did things. I thought perhaps my security software might have decided to stop letting Pale Moon work without telling me about it, so I went into its settings and discovered that my exception for plugin-container.exe was no longer valid, due to that file not existing anymore.
I did some testing, and it turned out that my problems all happened whenever I went somewhere that might use a plugin (Youtube, etc.) which confirmed that plugin-container was probably the issue.
I tried rerunning the Pale Moon installer, and uninstalling Pale Moon (but keeping my profile, etc.) and reinstalling it, but this didn't make plugin-container.exe come back.
I'm going to make a new profile real quick on the off chance that profile corruption is somehow the cause of this, but really profile mismanagement shouldn't be capable of making plugin-container.exe drop off the face of the planet. EDIT: The new profile died on the start page.
The bizarre thing is that I was playing Youtube videos earlier today without issue, and yet now plugin-container doesn't show up even after a clean install.
plugin-container.exe has ceased to exist

Re: plugin-container.exe has ceased to exist
Please check if your antivirus hasn't automatically "cleaned" "quarantined" or "fixed" the plugin-container. This is the most likely cause if it gives a false positive in your antivirus suite.

...Odd. This does seem to be the case now, but it certainly wasn't earlier. I guess I"ll have to write a sternly-worded letter to AVG. Thanks.
