windows 7, duckduckgo, Pale Moon

Howdy. I having a problem with facebook (when i try to reply to a comment the name of the original poster doesn't pop into the comment box and my reply goes to the bottom of the list as opposed to right below the original post) . I think this is Java related so I need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall. The first time I tried I was told i needed the permission of trustedinstaller for many of the items. I deleted what I could rebooted and tried again. The second time i tried I was given error code 0x80004002.

Do I need java for facebook?
Is there a way around 0x80004002?

Thanks
Al

Java does not equal javascript. You do not need Java for Facebook functionality.

I haven't used Facebook in the last few years, but I am pretty confident that the website does not require Java.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge regarding the proper terms. I have figured out that my 2 biggest problems have to be related somehow. On duckduckgo the country of origin selection for searching ( which is a blue coloured switch) can't be switched and on facebook , there used to be a link to the original poster that popped up ( which is blue) when i respond to a comment does not appear any longer. Both changes occurred upon switching to Pale Moon. Any ideas?

Everything else about Pale Moon I'm loving.

What do you see in error console? (After page is loaded, press F12 and click "Console")
Do you have any extensions installed? Please post text from "Help" -> "Troubleshooting Information".

Please post screen-shot examples of what was occurring before (in other browser) as compared to what is occurring now in Pale Moon. Thanks. ;)
