After Windows Update no background images in Pale Moon (YT in particular). No problem with Firefox at the same time.

Please check to make sure Pale Moon isn't sandboxed or quarantined by your antivirus software, and that your firewall similarly does not block Pale Moon for being a new version.

No restrictions from FW or AV

I'm not sure what your problem is - can you please give a detailed description, example URL, what you do, what you expect and what happens instead?
You also say "Windows Update" - was this related to you performing a Windows update?

After using Pale Moon backup tool (30 October) everything "looking good in print".

Ah, so you had some profile corruption happen. OK, glad you got it solved!
