Youtube video manager

Oops, your web browser is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a modern, fully supported browser.

It appears that it doesn't even matter what I select in the compatibility user agent mode. Does it even do anything? It never changed a thing for me.
What should I do to make this crap site work properly?

Try: general.useragent.override.youtube.com set to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0

I don't get this message using this UAO.

Is this the URL that you are using that gives you the warning banner? https://www.youtube.com/VideoManager

When I use this URL I get the following (do not see the "Oops, your web browser is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a modern, fully supported browser." banner warning anywhere):
Youtube video manager page.png

Tried the same URL (https://www.youtube.com/VideoManager) and logged-in and still I do not see any "Oops, your web browser is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a modern, fully supported browser." banner warning anywhere on the page - still looks like screen-shot I previously posted. And I'm using the UAO that I previously posted that you are saying makes no difference.

I tried changing the UAO setting I suggested: general.useragent.override.youtube.com;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 (which is what I use)

to the Pale Moon UAO setting: general.useragent.override.youtube.com;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:42.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0 PaleMoon/27.4.1

And I still do not get the warning banner you describe.

If the URL you are using is this: https://www.youtube.com/VideoManager then what is it that you are doing on the webpage when you get this warning banner?

That looks like a specific youtube channel that someone named videomanager I believe. It works fine for me too.

Another possiblity is If you log in to youtube and then on the left side click on "my channel" , on the page that opens toward the middle left top there is a link "Video Manager". When I click on that I don't get any errors or can't finds. Seems to work fine.

I think this might be a direct link to it: https://www.youtube.com/my_videos?o=U
I'm using Pale Moon version 28.1.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

No.
The URL is https://www.youtube.com/enhance?v=<video id>

Yes it's related to your own Youtube channel and whatever you might have uploaded.

Edited: Okay here is a url with a video id and it shows "sorry the video cannot be edited"

https://www.youtube.com/enhance?v=2u710NWDYvY

I guess because it's not my video and I can't edit it?

With what specific url and under what circumstances exactly are you getting this browser message?

Okay I think I see what you are talking about:
Capture3.PNG
It occurs in this case when you upload a video into YouTube and then try to apply "enhancements" in the youtube creator studio/video manager to it. When you go the enhancements screen the above shows. It happens if you select audio screen too.

Not sure what exactly to try to see if I can make it work. I did try a user agent switcher and it made the message go away and replaced it with update your flash player but I stopped there since I don't know what I'm doing and don't want to mess up my settings etc.

Now that you're not getting the browser update banner warning but instead getting a flash player update warning you may actually need to update your flash player before doing what you want with videos.

What version of flash player are you using (under "Add-ons" > "Plugins")?

Well personally I don't need this to work since I don't use it. I was just trying to duplicate the OP's problem since we were having a hard time figuring out what exactly is the problem in terms of urls etc.

But anyway my Flash is 26.0.0.137. Edit: for kicks I updated it but same version shows.

That's strange. I updated flash to 26.0.0.151 and I can see it in add/remove programs but PM/FF is reporting that I have the older one - .137. Maybe they only report the new version when a version is out of date and replaced?

Added: I did a computer restart and now updated flash is showing in FF/PM (.151) correctly.

So how does one switch to a user agent that this youtube site function might like? What I tried before doesn't seem to be working.

Instead of an add-on, use about:config.... by doing the following:

1) Select the following: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0
2) Right-click on the selected value (above) and select "Copy" from the context menu.
3) Type about:config into Pale Moon address bar and click "I promise to be careful".
4) In Search box type in useragent.
5) Scroll down until you find general.useragent.override.youtube.com
6) Right-click on that setting and select "Modify" from the context menu.
7) Paste (what you had copied above) to the string-value by using the CTRL+V keys together (the new, copied, string-value will have replaced previous string-value).
8) Click "Ok" button (to save it).

Now the general.useragent.override.youtube.com UAO pref will be set to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 for Pale Moon.

Ok I did that but it had no effect on the video. Shows the same thing in the enhancement area (and audio) as image posted earlier.

If you click on the link that states use a modern browser etc, it takes you to this page:

https://www.youtube.com/html5

Tried doing this in FF and it does work - you can use the video in enhancements and sound.

Are you using the HTML5 Media Tuner Pale Moon add-on? I have the "media mode" in this add-on for Youtube set to "HTML5 + MSE".
