Pale Moon Update Problem

Hello!

I just updated to Pale Moon 15.2.1 and now I keep getting the following update:

The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Pale Moon running on your computer, and then restart Pale Moon to try again.

This only happens in the Windows XP Limited User. I uninstalled completely (even profile) and did a clean install and I keep getting this in when I try to start Pale Moon as Limited User. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

I don't think you can successfully install or upgrade software as a Limited user (there's a good reason why limited accounts cannot do this - it is to prevent unwanted installation of software or system changes). Please download the installer and run it as administrator.

I installed the update as administrator and it woks fine there. But when I log in as limited user, that's when I get the prompt telling me that the update couldn't be installed. To be sure, I also did a complete uninstall of Pale Moon as admin and limited user (including removing files in %appdata% and ran ccleaner for the registry). Then I reinstalled it (logged in as admin) but I still get the same prompt when logged in as limited user.

Note: I press "Ok" on the prompt and Pale Moon does start up normally and the version is 15.2.1.

You may have some errant update files in your limited user profile, in that case.

Check C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates and if it exists, delete all files and subfolders in there.
Check also C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Moonchild productions\Pale Moon\ and subfolders for any "updates" "updates\0" folders and/or the files "updates.xml" and "active-update.xml" and remove those.
