You can put your overrides in your user.js file, that way they can easily be edited and saved.

Example:

Code: Select all

/* User Agent Overrides */

user_pref("general.useragent.override.facebook.com", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0");
Win7 Pro SP1 64 Bit
Comodo Internet Security
Pale Moon 33.1.0, Epyrus Mail 2.1.2, Firefox 115.10.0esr, Thunderbird 115.10.1, and SeaMonkey 2.53.18.2

It wouldn't matter where it's stored. The problem with using user.js is that it always overrides and resets on startup, which can be really annoying.
I wouldn't recommend it for that reason (e.g. resetting it to default wouldn't have been possible if a user.js was used, unless the file was edited manually).

User-entered values will never be reset when the browser upgrades, so you'll always have to reset values yourself if you changed them yourself.

Moonchild is correct, but it just takes a few seconds to edit the user.js file (bumping up the Firefox version number). But if you want to go back to default, you would need to delete the entry in user.js before resetting it in about:config. I just find it easier, myself, to use the user.js file. :|

That's not happening for me any longer either.

Latest 64-bit Pale Moon (27.2.1)
Update
This feature hasn't been working for me since mid-April (see above) on 4 different Pale Moon installations.

No big deal, I didn't care too much that it didn't work.

However, updating to PM 27.6.1 has solved the problem for me. So, yay!
