Updated to v27, confused as hell Topic is solved

I figured this was a good opportunity to start clean, so I didn't copy over my profile. Well... that quickly turned out to be bigger problem than I expected as I haven't done this in a LONG time. Plus some of the major changes in v27 I guess.
I need some help please. I'll probably keep adding questions about things I can't figure out (thus far I had three ready to post and managed to figure two of them out after a while of frustration).

So anyway:
1) How do I separate back and forward buttons so I can slip reload/stop button between them?

3) How do I make PM not switch to newly opened tab? I found a setting for it, but it's already unchecked, so it shouldn't happen. A bug?

From link. Like one of those posted in this thread. When I click on them, they open in new tab browser switch to it. Tools-options-tabs. I'm pretty sure it didn't happen in v26.

To open links in the same tab using only one hand: drag and drop the link onto the tab.

All external links from this forum will be by default open in new tab because such behaviour is defined by forum code.

You're using the Clean Links addon, that's why.

The "unchecked" setting doesn't work for me in PM 26.5.0 either (switches to new tab checked/unchecked)...

This setting refers to the case when you open a new tab from the context menu. And it works properly.

The "unchecked" setting doesn't work for me in PM 26.5.0 either (switches to new tab checked/unchecked)... New tab switch to it setting.png

This has been driving me nuts when with the latest palemon, using startpage, click on any link in a search and a new tab opens BUT use google and click on any link in a search and the link opens in the present tab. I 'THINK' I fixed it by using an old mod for that other browser that uses a fox as its logo.

( Be Careful with about:config)

In the search bar enter:

about:config

Promise to be careful with the dragons then search for :

browser.link.open_newwindow

Set the value from the default 3 to 1, test it to be sure it works for you, if not, return the value to default.
