Video and Audio frames blank.
Reading newspapers with video or audio frames on the page just show a blank space. Simultaneous checking with Chrome browser shows the video or audio just fine. I have tried starting with all addons disabled and clearing the cache but does not solve the problem. What am I missing here?

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Please make sure that you give "plugin-container.exe" full access in your firewall (inbound and outbound). That is usually the issue.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Thank you. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. I even switched the firewall off just to check. I also started with firewall off and all addons disabled. The problem remains.
Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
You could also check to see if your plugins need updating, also which version of Pale Moon are you using?
Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Another thing to try is restarting the browser with addons disabled, as one or more may be interfering with video/audio playback.
Edit: Sorry I see you've tried that already. Moonchild should be able to help you further on this one, hopefully.
Edit 2: Also worth trying, have a look at your Anti-virus software, sometimes that can even cause problems by inadvertantly blocking certain webpage elements.

Test with a clean profile, something might still be stubborn and interfering.rafiki wrote:Thanks. Plugins are up to date. Version 12.3r2 32 bit.
If you have a particular site where you come across this problem, we can check.
Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
I had hoped that the upgrade to 15 would fix this but, unfortunately, not. This is a typical page that I have problems with:

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
This sites video and audio playback works fine for me, and updating to PM 15 will still use the same profile as before, so have you tried each of the above suggestions, ie. firstly loading the browser into a brand new clean profile and then checking to see if your video/audio playback functions correctly, also checking to see if any anti-virus you are using is not mistakenly interfering with anything on the websites?

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
I checked the page and although there is a bit of a delay loading the video, it loads and plays fine on the workstation I tested it on (Pale Moon 15.0, Flash 11.2).

Fine for me, about a 3 second delay in loading the video and then it runs OK.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Hmmm. Thanks. I have disabled the virus protection and renamed the Pale Moon profile and restarted. A new profile was created. Still no luck. I checked the latest version of Firefox and that has the same problem.
Chrome, Opera and IE9 all work fine.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
If Firefox displays the same issue, then it's at least not Pale Moon specific, and probably something you'd run into in any gecko-based browser on your particular setup. Providing basic troubleshooting information for us to use is imperative at this point. Please refer to the sticky in this board.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Out of curiosity I went to the telegraph website and I ended up having the same problem. I found that one of my subscriptions in Adblock (Easylist) was causing the problem. The fact that you said that you disabled all addons and were still having the issue has me stumped, for me that kind of problem is always related to adblock. Sorry I couldn't be more help.rafiki wrote:I had hoped that the upgrade to 15 would fix this but, unfortunately, not. This is a typical page that I have problems with:

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Thanks. I use Ad Muncher, an external programme but I have tried with that switched off too.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash but that didn't do any good either.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Some ad blockers also make entries in your hosts file (system-wide protection or "immunization") or specific lists in your browser (check the "exceptions" buttons on the Options -> Content page, etc.) which will still be in effect even if you switch off your active application.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
I decided to deploy the nuclear option. I completely uninstalled FF and PM, removed all traces of both and ran my registry cleaner. I just reinstalled PM 15.0 and the video is now working fine. I'll rebuild the addons one by one tomorrow.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Annoying to do, but sometimes it's the best option to start from scratch.

Re: Video and Audio frames blank.
Well this is very frustrating. When I closed and reopened PM after the clean install the pesky video failed to start again. I did yet another clean install and closed Ad Muncher. The video ran ok. Closed and reopened PM and the video failed again! Not sure where to go from here. I will try the 64bit version.
