I have no Java on the four Windows 7 computers in the house. So Java can be ruled out as a solution.
It is on GMX's end. One day email worked, next day it didn't. There was an easier workaround but GMX tweaked again and that no longer worked. (Note, during the working not working, working and then not working I didn't make any changes in the browsers).

I spent time comparing my Firefox and Palemoon settings in about:config and don't see anything that would cause FF to display correctly but PM not to except for some sort of identifier that GMX uses.

Here is the latest screen from GMX (and I expect from MAIL.com too), when logging into the WebMail UI using my Pale Moon 25.8.0 :
GMX - Browser Not Supported - PM25_8_0.jpg
At least it now lets us proceed to the simplified UI.

Small blessing, but anyway....

BTW, they do not mention SeaMonkey on that list, but it also still seems to work properly for me, as does Pale Moon 27 A2.

Palemoon v 26.4 still shows a completely blank screen after logging in. Same as I reported here on 13 July.
I have to use another browser, or my android tablet in order to see anything.

Same for me.

Has anyone bothered to go into the Error Console and see what errors may be generated?

I logged into the GMX blank page and tried the error console.

  • on the blank page after login, select menu item View -> Page style -> No Style
  • Follow the link "Barrierefreies Postfach" => redirects to https://mm.gmx.net/folders?0
  • Switch back to Basic Page Style
This also works for me, using PM on Mint Linux!

You're right, it's a fugly version. I'll probably use FF or Chromium to access my mail.com accounts, but keep this as an option.

Interesting that version 25.x is being semi-rescued by GMX now, but 26.x still is not.

I never went from version 25 to 26 for other reasons (however I have tested 27A2, as posted upthread).

Our most recent observations do suggest, though, that in spite of GMX's uncaring and sparse rhetoric on the matter, that they might actually be trying to provide a fix, as my same ver PM 25 did not even give the incompatible/redirect screen [shown in my earlier recent post] when the problem began, nor immediately after the 'posiedon' URL prefix fix stopped working.

And GMX should fix this, because they themselves caused it, and especially as Pale Moon's 'market share' continues to grow while FireFox's shrinks.

+1, since GMX is the only one to blame for this issue

I don't use GMX, but I've been following this thread.

GMX works with Pale Moon 27 (beta). It's found here: http://www.palemoon.org/WIP/

I'm not familiar with the site -- wasn't sure what to expect from it (and don't know Dutch) -- but I can say that it loaded for me, and that clicking around had some effect (with PM 26.5). However this is off-topic to the subject of this thread. Please consider making a separate thread if you want help concerning this site.

Brilliant! How did you discover that? Is 27 (BETA) relatively stable? I can't afford crashes, so would just use IE or Chrome (did I just type that I'd use IE? Jeez!)

It's been known for some time and mentioned multiple times in different parts of this thread (and others). ;)

PM 27 has been stable for me, even as alpha. There's a portable version available btw, which uses its own profile and can be set up without affecting your installed version.

The v27 portable (x64) does indeed work in GMX. v27 does seem quite stable.

Thanks for the heads up re v27 Beta. Could I run this in portable mode from a directory (or folder as everyone now seems to call them)? That way, I could access GMX webmail when I need to (which is infrequent) but still have the safety of not running a Beta.

Or should I not worry and just plump for the Beta anyway? I guess I can always roll-back, right?

Thanks.

You cannot roll back.. Tycho is a one way profile format conversion that v26 can't completely read. You will need to back up your profile if you think you will want to return to an older version.

Tobin's remark notwithstanding, you can use the portable version of the beta to run it for just those problematic sites that you need v27 functionality for right now.

Thanks Moonchild, that's exactly what I've done. Works a charm. Thanks to Tobin too.
