Collection of random crashes

[Octopuss]

From my past experiences the website in question has nothing to do with it, I just mentioned it in the remote chance there would be a specific trigger. None of the crashes I ever experienced couldn't be reproduced.

The sym.gg crashed for me when I allowed jsdelvr and high charts, and selecting two different weapons.

But as usual, restarting with a default profile and running WinDBG produces no crashes.. Just like steam which CTD's once every session I'm visiting it, or the once or twice YT and GitHub CTD'd.

Not a crash, but I still get random permanent UI hangs in 34.3.1. They seem more likely to happen if you get it to start loading Gmail in one tab and then do something else in the other tab.

Any advice on how to diagnose considering there's no crash dump to collect? I could disable the ComTrade extension, it's mostly there as a historic artifact...but generally, my customizations don't seem to be getting in the way.

But, as noted before, I can still reproduce the hang described here, with no other customizations. I looked through PassIFox's code and nothing stands out to me. uBO is way over my head though, browser itself even more, sooo can't help. I'm too dumb for this shit.

FWIW, back when I tried Dactyloidae, the hang only happened in single-process mode, but not in multi-process mode.

Sigh, I tend to care a bit more about the older branches of web application at work than co-workers. In the oldest branch I still occasionally backport bugfixes to, I managed to get the thing bugged and software reports the error it shouldn't on login, but in the end still lets you in. And when trying to debug with Pale Moon, I get the good old browser UI hang when I set the breakpoint in the particular spot. Then the only way out is terminating palemoon.exe.

I might be able to share more details when I get to the bottom of it. It seems like required REST calls to the server are performed twice for some reason.

I messed up and replaced code to disable submit button with code to disable form element by setting disabled property on it (which doesn't really work). And in combination of adding event listener for submit event on the form with old jQuery 1.7.2, it happened that two submit events would be sent, which would be prevented by disabling submit button when submit was first triggered.

I fixed that, but, the AVX build at work with similarly configured profile like at home (where I use SSE2 build) still appears to be relatively easy to hang by placing the breakpoint in that event listener function, even with that code fixed. While at home, it can take a lot of attempts. The only differences I can think of are that I haven't updated GreaseMonkey at work yet and there I have two browser windows opened rather than one.

Other is a hung shutdown, deliberate crash by the process watchdog when a shutdown doesn't complete. By definition not debuggable from a dump.

This is pretty obvious to me: asCell() is NULL (or pointing to an invalid address, such after a double-free, causing a use after free), thus the crash.

You could try and change this method for:

I can't describe the steps as it happens randomly and documenting what I did throughout the day would be the project of its own. Throughout the day, I need to use heavier sites to "get things done". That includes GitHub, Google Drive, NextCloud, Jenkins.

Though maybe I could replace Google Drive with the desktop client they have. I wouldn't say I use these all day long, but throughout the day, I'll probably visit them once or twice (and not necessarily all of them).

With PM 33, I'm also experiencing random crashes on "heavy" sites, such as github. That's something I never encountered with former versions (which were rock-stable for me).
