Unread post by Blackberry » 2025-01-13, 18:42

Good afternoon. My computer does not meet modern requirements, but I will write the specifications
AMD A8 8650B
16 RAM

Is it worth to install Pale Moon?

https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldoze ... 8650B.html

It has AVX listed. Test the normal AVX builds (but not AVX2).
If that doesn't work, use the SSE2 builds.

So if I understand correctly, the current browser already requires AVX2 support?

Currently not available...

The pages will be back online once scraping stops."

But if it's a bulldozer CPU then it should be able to run the normal releases of Pale Moon.

just fyi, the techpowerup website is also a useful resource

https://www.techpowerup.com/cpu-specs/p ... 650b.c2619
confirms AVX but no AVX2 support as mentioned.

There used to be WCPUID or CPU-Z for Windows, it would show detailed CPU info.
I have CPU-X on Linux, with a similar UI:
