PM won't update on Thinkpad X200 Topic is solved

Thinkpad X200, 4GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53GHZ, Mesa Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset (CTG)

After the update failed with the browser, Palemoon/help/check for updates, I downloaded the tarball and that also failed to load and run. Is the X200 capable of running AVX ?

shows cpu capabilities in flags field.

This CPU doesn't appear to support AVX.

The update server explicitly does not offer updates to systems that do not support AVX, so it not finding updates in your case is exactly as-expected.
Please switch to Nuck-TH's SSE2 builds: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=27873

The Nuck-TH version is running well although I can't get the PGP signatures to match. The one supplied at https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=27873 is different to the one downloaded with the tarball. What have I done wrong ?

Hello again, I think the PGP sigs were matched on the X200 Linux rig yesterday but the Win 7 X201 is proving harder. Swiss cheese memory. Yes it would be a damn site easier if I relied on all the obvious mainstream software and have it set to fullly automatic updates but so boring.

Win 7 pro, Thinkpad X201, SSD, Current Windows security updates, Ask Woody Group B since 2016 (?), 4GB RAM,

I have looked at the sig from here : https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=27873&start=80#p250329

and one from here : ftp://ftp2.palemoon.org/avx/ this is the site I think PM was downloaded from along with the sig. Still have both in the User > Downloads folder.

I have read further including @RealityRipple 'There's not a fantasically easy way to do this' post. GPG4Win is not for me. Is there a way to do this without buying or downloading third party software ?
