Youtube video pages populate slowly
I find that YouTube pages populate slowly with Pale Moon. The images and text do not appear immediately. The videos play all right, however. I am currently using SeaMonkey and LibreWolf to use YouTube because they are faster.

Re: Youtube video pages populate slowly
On my own computer, basically every browser works with YouTube EXCEPT for the ones using Goanna. Goanna does the same thing the OP is saying: Images and text don't appear instantaneously, yet videos are fine.
I wonder, do the buttons load slowly too on your computers? If so, then either this is a problem of the engine/Pale Moon, or we're all collectively doing something wrong.
Also, post-posting, I then realised there was another possibility: Google just didn't account for Goanna's mere existence due to it being one of the smaller engines, and thus, made code that messed with people trying to use YouTube on a browser that uses Goanna. (In this case, Pale Moon)
But wait, if you can actually reproduce it on your laptop on other browsers... How slow is it? How old is it? And finally, what are your CPU(s) and GPU(s)? If it has to do with a certain CPU Manufacturer, or a certain GPU Manufacturer (which we won't know until someone who doesn't have the same CPU/GPU manufacturer as us says it works) then that could mean it might not be Pale Moon's fault.

It's mostly just performance for me, the less "other things" I have open the higher chances YT will work fine in chromium-based ones.
AMD A10-9700B, so old and weak for "the web" nowadays, which is why I guess the "PM" problem is actually "just" the difference between engine-performances doing all that insane JS/etc. YT requires.

Alrighty, so it's not just a common manufacturer issue but rather out stuff being too old, or...
Goanna is just having a extremely hard time running YouTube in-general. Apparently not our fault.

Re: Youtube video pages populate slowly
YouTube has been Google's playground to go completely overboard with WebComponents. At some point in time a large delay was introduced in the scripting that affected us in both WebComponents and non-WebComponents versions of the site. This delay is still there but because of WebComponents use, the video section is able to load and start playing fairly quickly while the rest is asynchronously delayed as their scripting does whatever the F it does to cause this delay.
It's basically a case of "their scripting conveniently delays non-chrome execution" and there's no incentive for them to "fix" it for non-chromium and improve performance of what they clearly see as their competitors.

Re: Youtube video pages populate slowly
Alrighty. I think I got it.
Instead of going to the normal YouTube website like we would all prefer, we use the mobile site which doesn't do all of this slowness.
I might hate the layout (and the fact that i can't use hotkeys [and the fact that it cant run in the background]) but nothing we can do. Unless you want to use FreeTube.
The extension to enable the mobile YouTube website is MTube. You might be able to use a User Agent Switcher to change it but maybe not.
Now then. Imma just go back over to using this instead of FreeTube now. And I suggest you do the same if you wanna be on a browser to watch YouTube. It's either MTube or UTube.
Or option 3, use Invidious.

Re: Youtube video pages populate slowly
My experience with YouTube is acceptable and functional. The site loads more slowly than it should, and there's some delay in loading any particular video. But after it gets going it plays fine.

This is similar to my experience with YouTube. The mobile version using the MTube addon lessens the load and so far works well for me.
