How to add new search engines to Pale Moon?
Pale Moon 31.0 64 bit on Windows 10. Search engines are not on the list of available engines to add. The engines should have opensearch xml since I could add them in Chrome without problems. Pale Moon seems to ignore or can't detect the xml so there is no + button normally see on the old firefox at all.
Please help me adding of go.mail.ru and coccoc.com search engines to Pale Moon. Thanks.

You add search engines with opensearch capabilities to the browser in the search engine drop-down menu.

Of course you need to visit the site at the time you like to add the search engine.
I still use a 64 bit capable Pentium 4 670 processor with Pale Moon.

Thanks everyone for help. I know how to add opensearch to Firefox. Of course I visited the site. But strangely enough I don't see anything like the Adding entry on Moonchild's post. If I see it I could already got it added. Please try with coccoc.com search. Coccoc is more important. Thanks again.

Mycroft Projects works now. You can get search plugins from there. https://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html

I literally just went to go.mail.ru and opened up the search box drop-down. I don't understand how you didn't see itVozFreeAccounts wrote: ↑2022-05-17, 18:37But strangely enough I don't see anything like the Adding entry on Moonchild's post.

As for coccoc.com, all i saw there was an advertisement to download their own flavour of browser (If I understood correctly?) and not a search page. And that page didn't offer anything in terms of search.

I think Moonchild has the Add As Search Engine extension installed to give him that option. The extension is here:

No, it's literally a built-in feature which that site supports via the <link rel="search"> header tag. No extension required.Figueroa wrote: ↑2022-05-18, 02:05I think Moonchild has the Add As Search Engine extension installed to give him that option. The extension is here:

So open that URL and look at the search engine menu as Moonchild showed in the screenshot. It has the option to add the search engine right there.

Re: How to add new search engines to Pale Moon?
To me the option to "add a search engine" only works if I install the extension mentioned above. If I disable the extension the only option I have is to "Add a keyword for this search engine", which means it'll make a bookmark with the keyword. The site in question "coccoc.com" doesn't even have this last option.
Edit: Ah! Now I understand what you mean. You should cick the dropdown menu from the search bar and then it should appear "Add search engine". Try that VozFreeAccounts
