Using Right-Mouse Button on Anti-RMB webpages
Hi, can someone tell me how I might use RMB on websites that disable RMB?
Thanks.
Thanks.

By blocking the script that prevents it.

Can you give a link to a website that does this?

I see. Can you explain how that would be done?Tomaso wrote:By blocking the script that prevents it.

I couldn't figure out what to block on that page, but setting dom.event.contextmenu.enabled to false (in about:config) works just fine.

My first instinct would be to install the NoScript browser plug-in and go from there.bushwhacker2k wrote:I see. Can you explain how that would be done?Tomaso wrote:By blocking the script that prevents it.

While blocking a certain script would allow the use of right click to open context menu, it may (and will) also break the functionality of the website.
Question: Why? What are you trying to achieve by enabling RMB?

Coincidentally I already have NoScript what should I do from there?BenFenner wrote:My first instinct would be to install the NoScript browser plug-in and go from there.bushwhacker2k wrote:I see. Can you explain how that would be done?Tomaso wrote:By blocking the script that prevents it.

I suggest using a script manager. I use Controle de Scripts, which is a Firefox extension that works in Pale Moon. It has a setting that prevents javascript from blocking the context menus.

You enter it into Pale Moon's address bar, to access the advanced settings.bushwhacker2k wrote:I can't find about:config, where would that be?
Just be careful messing around in there.
When you've done whatever you're trying to do on that page, you should restore the default setting, to avoid breaking certain functions on some sites.

There's an additional issue, at least for the large central image - it's overlaid by an invisible, 1px x 1px gif:
( static.u17i.com/common/images/blank.gif )
If you try to save that image using the context menu, it saves the blank gif instead.
However, blocking the gif with an adblocker will allow you to save the underlying image.
Or a different alternative entirely...
Use "Page Info" rather than the context menu.
"Page Info" / "Media" section offers a download function:
Click the identity box in the address bar > click "More Information..." > Media >
Sort by Type to make it easier to find the image you want > "Save As..." (click button)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Awesome, I'll definitely be checking out Page Info in the future.coffeebreak wrote: Or a different alternative entirely...

Thanks, everyone.

Another option, a combination of Pale Moon Commander (disallowing blocking of the right-click menu - Advanced preferences > Security > General) and viewing the No Style page ((Alt >) View > Page style).
