There is a script on that page which freezes the browser to cause "Unresponsive Script" dialog and makes CPU usage go 100%.

For sure not without more information. Pages freezes instantly.

Report to the page owner and explain the issue so that the page owner is perhaps able to fix it or at least ask the page owner what is causing that and report back if you get useful information.

Hi, Coollocker.

Could it have been a temporary problem perhaps? Perhaps an error which the site owner has detected and corrected by now? I ask because I clicked on your link and the page was displayed immediately here.
Admittedly this is Palemoon 28.6.0.1 64-bit on Linux Mint 18.1 64-bit here.

Regards,
Karl

PM 28.6.0.1 64bit win10

- everyday profile or safe mode: hangs the browser, displays the "stop the script" popup, highlights this script (I might be wrong on this, not using these features a lot):
function Z(a,b,c,d,f,g){var h=b&16383;for(b>>=14;0<=--g;){var k=this[a]&16383,e=this[a++]>>14,z=b*k+e*h,k=h*k+((z&16383)<<14)+c[d]+f;f=(k>>28)+(z>>14)+b*e;c[d++]=k&268435455}return f}function T(a,b){var c=J[a.charCodeAt(b)];return null==c?-1:c}function A(a){var b=m();b.fromInt(a);return b}function K(a){var b=1,c;0!=(c=a>>>16)&&(a=c,b+=16);0!=(c=a>>8)&&(a=c,b+=8);0!=(c=a>>4)&&(a=c,b+=4);0!=(c=a>>2)&&(a=c,b+=2);0!=a>>1&&(b+=1);return b}function E(a){this.m=a}function F(a){this.m=a;this.mp=a.invDigit();

- fresh portable: displays the site OK, if a bit slowly

I'm.... confused

2karlchen: This is not a temporary problem, it has been around for a long time, since version 25.x. I have to use another browser for connect to this site. I tried to edit the user-agent, but no result :(
Repeat, my os: Windows 7 Home Premium x64, not linux.

Has something to do with the native UA.. With the Firefox compatible UA it loads fine. Some fuckery with browsers it doesn't know or something.

Has something to do with check.svyaznoy.ru which it will be in an load hang load hang loop but only with the native UA.. With the Firefox compatible UA it loads fine.
Can confirm as it just happened to me.
I did not try the non-Native modes, but the hang happens with Native, so it's a problem of user agent sniffing.

I'd like to know what is causing the hang tho.. also tried blocking check.svyaznoy.ru but didn't help.. But yeah it happens on the Native UA...

I was able to stop it by hitting stop inbetween cycles.. This is the HTML i got.. https://pastebin.com/C4RnKhQg

Whatever it is it can only be solved on their side unless they can shed insight on what that minified mess is.

If it's a UA thing then whatever they are using indeed chokes up when it finds an "unknown" useragent string. We've seen this before, and really the only people who can fix this are the JavaScripters who created the site. They should find it important to fix because it is in fact causing denial of service to visitors.
