Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
Ever since I moved to Windows 10 from Windows 7, I get frequent crashes when I have Twitch.tv and one or more other tabs open. The only thing in common every time it crashes is that one of the tabs is Twitch.
Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
It has only happened since I moved to Windows 10 from 7 (i.e. it did not occur in 7.), and it doesn't happen with Linux either.

Please include troubleshooting information and a crash report so we have at least some basic information about the environment this occurs in?

Please add a crash report too using appcrashview.

What is "BrowserProtect" ?
Search seem to point to it being malicious?

Working on trying to get one, the crash was a bit elusive when I tried earlier.Moonchild wrote:Please add a crash report too using appcrashview.

If it's elusive, then please try to get a crash minidump because it's going to be hard otherwise seeing what is going on if intermittent (we most likely need a callstack to analyze)

That's actually what I've been trying to do.Moonchild wrote:If it's elusive, then please try to get a crash minidump because it's going to be hard otherwise seeing what is going on if intermittent (we most likely need a callstack to analyze)

Thank you. I hope you manage to get a usable dump so it can be addressed.Dgwphotos wrote:That's actually what I've been trying to do.Moonchild wrote:If it's elusive, then please try to get a crash minidump because it's going to be hard otherwise seeing what is going on if intermittent (we most likely need a callstack to analyze)

Murphy's law of troubleshooting: The time you WANT it to crash is the time it won't.
Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
I believe I finally have the dump, and have uploaded it to the palemoon FTP site, how do I link it here?

Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
No need to link it. just mentioning you've uploaded it is enough.
EDIT: error in zip. Can you please check if it was uploaded completely?

Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
I uploaded it again, the file size the ftp server reported matches the original file. (I also double checked to make sure that the dump file will open, and that I can access the compressed file.) Edit: it's listed at 538mb, the original says 563mb.

Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
I've downloaded the new file and it still shows a data error in the file.
sha-256 9904b61497f593af4970f706700724833ca632d37a95d48eba454f11bebc5ed0 for both files you uploaded.
If it matches what you have locally then there's a problem with whatever you're using to create your zip archive.
Also, 538 MiB = 565 MB

Hmm, ok, there is a difference in the sum between your copy and mine.
Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
I uploaded it again as a 7zip.

Then it's your upload that went wrong, and not the packing.Dgwphotos wrote:Hmm, ok, there is a difference in the sum between your copy and mine.

Re: Pale Moon crashes frequently while watching Twitch streams with at least one other tab open
I'll check, but it's quite possible the same upload issue will also corrupt a 7z.Dgwphotos wrote:I uploaded it again as a 7zip.
Alternatively, if this is again bust, it's also possible to torrent it since that will have per-block checksums and retries. If you want to do that just upload the .torrent file to ftp instead or PM me the magnet link. And you may want to check into using a different ftp client
EDIT: the 7-zip is also bust.
