Freezes with 28.1.0

Hey all. I've been a pale moon user for a number of years and I've liked it a lot. I just got the new update to 28.1.0 earlier today on my desktop through the help->check for updates and I've been getting a lot of hangs/freezes. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling pale moon and it's still happening. A pretty consistent way to make it happen is for me to go to my gmail then facebook then somewhere else and then it'll freeze for like 10-30 seconds. Then sometimes it works, sometimes it freezes again. I tried the cache stuff in the basic troubleshooting thread. When I tried to do the profile manager part windows just gives me a new window of PM with my homepage though. I haven't updated my laptop yet that's still on 28.0.1. I'm using

One persons freeze is not necessarily another persons freeze.
Similarly your freeze (Pallep), I'm thinking, is not what Thomaso referenced.
(Does PM have some sort of built in gestures?)
As far as memory is concerned, you never mentioned your usage at the times of freezing.

Oh yes, I did. Just as the other things you replied with points to that you didn't bother to read before writing. I wrote: memory usage is stable when the problem starts, which means it does not change.

If your profile folder is somehow corrupted then uninstalling/reinstalling won't help since the same corrupted profile will be reused.
You could test with a clean install using the portable version (don't unzip to a system folder, close your actual Pale Moon before running the portable and don't copy any files to portable's profile).
You can export your bookmarks to HTML and then import them to the portable.
Since uBlock 1.16.4.4 doesn't cause problems, you can install it to the portable as well.
