Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
Hello,
I have another problem on Twitch, when I turn off all the Video modules in Options
Twitch stream works perfectly on 60 FPS , but when I turn on these modules, Twitch stuckering and lagging on 30-35 FPS in theater mode.
BUT, when these modules turned off, I have max 720p quality on Youtube , without 60 FPS or 1080p option.
I tried Firefox, and there I haven't got any problem with Twitch or teatre mode.
What I must will do with this problem? Thank you in advance. I am using of course the latest Palemoon 27.3.0 32bit on Windows 7 PRO x64bit .

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
There is some problems with buffering on twitch but when is ok I can watch 720p/60 fps with no problems on HTML5 (with MSE for WebM video disabled)
On Youtube I can watch smoothly 1440p/60 fps with (same option disabled)

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
In teatre mode on twitch its still lagging on 35-40 FPS with WebM disabled. Skipped frames 255
And in Firefox (only 6 skipped frames and stable 60 FPS)

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
Thank you for the information, I have notebook for 1 000 € (MSI GP62 6QF) and these streams lagging like on very cheap laptops. In FF, Chrome or IE I don't have these problems. So I must wait and maybe migrate to Firefox for awhile.

Or try the unstable version ...SGvagon wrote:So I must wait and maybe migrate to Firefox for awhile.

... which already has the 27.4 media fixes in it.

Yes, unstable version works perfectly on 60 FPS . So when we can look forward to new stable Palemoon with these fix video/media modules?

Moonchild's answer to this is usually, "when it's ready."SGvagon wrote:So when we can look forward to new stable Palemoon with these fix video/media modules?
Shouldn't be too much longer, but I'm not aware of a specific release date so I honestly have no idea when that'll happen, other than "soon."

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
Here is a video capture from Twitch at 720p/60. When the video is maximized there is some lagging but this due to high cpu usage of both-video runing and video capture soft-Bandicam (wich run at 30 fps only)..If is runing only twitch there is no lagging for me.

And here is youtube at 1080p/60 fps:

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
Ok so I switch from stable to unstable Palemoon now. Maybe actual version of Palemoon not optimized for Core i7 6700HQ Skylike , Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M .
On my older laptop with Core i5 3210M and GeForce 635M I have no lags on actual Palemoon (stable 60 FPS) .

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
The actual stable version simply lacks all the MSE-MP4 fixes which the unstable is having right now. That is the source of the problems for the stable version.
But beware.. While MSE-MP4 is more or less fixed now in the unstable, the MSE-WebM variant is still rather broken and more work has to be done to make it working as good as MSE-MP4
So best, keep MSE-WebM deactivated until further notice from the development team - or only activate it when no other chance left

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
On screenshot above I had allow WebM, because stable Palemoon hanging and crashing for me. Now in unstable I WebM disallow and I haven't got any hang or crash yet.
Btw. in ustable version I have better results than Firefox
Only 3 skipped frames .

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
As said, MSE-MP4 is more or less fixed and repaired.
But MSE-WebM is still far away from that.

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
Hm I have instant CPU leak (50+ % ) using on Twitch streams with Palemoon Unstable. I know, its unstable, but working on Twitch better than stable version.

Not sure how many times you want to discuss known issues on the forum, but it's really kind of redundant.

Re: Twitch without Video modules works better in teatre mode, but Youtube not
I know, sorry. But I was confused, that Twitch streams works better on cheaper Lenovo laptop than expensiver MSI gaming laptop with default browser options (both Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU) .
