v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
Version 27.3 seems to have bigger problems in playing videos (YouTube, Facebook, other video portals linked to on Facebook) than the previous version, hardly anything plays at all. Rotating loading wheel or black square. This MSE thing is disabled, and I use no Flash Player since 2014.

Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
Well, the worst was this one here: black square not even loading and when I rightclicked it told me something about a ZK Player or some such thing:
http://lovewithcats.com/guy-spots-tiny- ... wing-at-it
I searched for another source for tzhat video by the topic and came on this page:
http://themeowpost.com/guy-spots-tiny-b ... -response/
Permanent loading wheel, but at least here I could see the video is on YouTube, so I went to YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFJXrA4J-Bc
but it still didn't play. At least I could download it from YouTube with an add-on.
Another one was this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDJOv2iu4L0
All YouTube videos first are stuck on loading, but when I once click on the play/pause button and then click the play/pause button again the loading bar above the time indicator usually fills and the thing starts to play at some point.
Other videos were on Facebook like this one:
https://www.facebook.com/catslifeus/vid ... 879406889/
which I also had to download first before being able to watch..
On version 27.2.1 (which I am using now again) they all play.

The top video plays fine for me, native mode, no MSE.
Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
All of the videos above play in native mode but I can't get any of the below videos to play in native mode or with MSE enabled...

Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
Hello. I may have found a solution to this issue.
I was also experiencing severe issues with video playback. I found that once I disabled Hyper-V, videos worked again!
(BTW I was able to play video from all of the links on this page...)
This issue has affected me in both Windows 10 Enterprise 1703 and on my Windows 7 Professional machine, both 64 bits, with Pale Moon 27.3.0 64 bit.
I verified that this was the problem by setting Hyper-V up again on both machines, and the video playback issues returned.
I hope this information may be of help!

Rotating loading wheel or black square
Maybe you disabled media autoplay in about:config
Go to about:config
Type autoplay in the address box
Make sure both of these have True values:
media.autoplay.allowscripted
media.autoplay.enabled

Off-topic:
I have found that if Pale Moon is taking up over 1 GB of RAM I can run into video playback issues on YouTube. This is a relatively new problem that I've been holding off on reporting until it gets more serious.

Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
The videos that nimanima post all work here to but I also come across videos that won't load.
Example:
http://www.bndestem.nl/buitenland/verke ... vaf77dcf8/
After I press the wihte triangle, a white circle kees rotating.
PM 27.3.0, both config values that Zootopia3000 post are true

Get the same result as @Maarten.
Tried different MSE settings, UA compat settings/vanilla FF 52 UA override, cookies/storage accepted, blockers off -- video wouldn't load. (PM 27.3 Win 7 x86)

Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
Oh, and about the YT video's: when I get an ad in YT, I can't skip the ad (the "you can skip this ad in x seconds button"), nor will the video play after the ad is done. It takes a few reloads until the YT video appears.

I don't have the problems you describe with YouTube videos. Please post links to examples.
And just a suggestion/personal opinion...
The reasons for problems streaming videos can vary with the video and site, so it may be more useful (both for you and for whoever responds) if you make separate threads for distinct situations - either based on the site where the video is embedded, or based on other common aspects of the problem you've encountered.
Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
That's difficult, ads come randomly. I can give you a link to a YT video but there is no guarantee you'll get an ad. The only thing I can do is sit with a videocamera and record it.coffeebreak wrote:Maarten wrote:Oh, and about the YT video's...

Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
Only issue I'm having is no audio in Facebook videos (example) but I guess it's a known issue (audio plays fine with MSE disabled).

Re: v27.3 Video Playback big gissues
THIS!! I have been cussing Pale Moon all morning. I've tried every fix in this thread and could NOT get You Tube to play. Then I HAPPENED to read this 'Off Topic' - and saw PM running over 2 GB of ram in Task Manager. So, I closed (with a plug-in error in the meantime) re-opened and VOILA - You Tube. There is a problem here.BenFenner wrote:Off-topic:

Win 7 64 bit - PM 27.3.0 also 64 bit.
My computer is almost constantly on - as is my browser, as I do site work in it. Restarting is an option, but a real pain.

Try unstable builds and see if these problems have already been fixed.

Revisited this with PM unstable-20170604, but also with 27.3 - and it played fine in both.
Previously had accepted bndestem.nl first-party cookies, but no third-party. However the site also requires cookies from ad.nl for the video to load. Once those were accepted, video loaded and played perfectly here in both unstable build and PM 27.3.
