Backspace in Facebook comments

Post by rumba7 » 2016-04-14, 06:02

I am unable to backspace in Facebook comments only. I also can't type an apostrophe, or paste into a Facebook comment box either.

Operating system: Windows 7 Pro
Browser version: 26.2.1 (x86)
32-bit or 64-bit?: 32 bit
Problem URL: https://www.facebook.com
Theme: Original
Installed add-ons: Many (32)
Installed plugins: 11

Just wanted to let you know.

Greetings.
To jump right to it, that's odd.
We fixed the backspace comments in 26.2, it used to be that you had to keep tapping the backspace to delete, per letter.

Currently running 26.2.1 on my laptop(X32) and my desktop(X64) and backspace works when pressing and holding, deletes everything.
I have to add that I'm running Windows 10, so someone with Windows 7 might have to give their input.

If you try a New Profile to see if it's not the browser on your end. It could be one of those many add-ons. I know my desktop has around the mid 20s, and this laptop carries 14, so you still have about 15 more to lie culprit.

No problem in another profile which has only 1 add on, so I'll start eliminating add ons one by one until it works properly again.

Thanks very much for your time.

The culprit was the add-on Grammarly 2.32. Just in case you come across it in the future.

Thanks very much.

I am sorry that your add-on was causing you trouble, I don't know about reporting to the developer but it's always a great practice to try.
