Issue with dynamic tab sizes (browser.tabs.resize_immediately)

Hello,
increasingly unhappy with FF I finally decided to give Pale Moon an honest try. Accompanied by compatibility problems with about 50% of my usual extensions, I stumbled across an issue regarding Pale Moons browser.tabs.resize_immediately setting, which doesn't seem to work (at least not as expected). I can't see any difference whether its true or false, in both cases tab sizes keep being dynamically adjusted depending on the space available.
This changes when I install Tab Utilities (including the so-called 'fixed' version). Thereupon the dynamically adjustment is gone: as soon the tabs occupy 50% of the panel they abruptly shrink to a fixed small size.
I am aware that Tab Utilities comes with a similar setting called extensions.tabutils.delayResizing, but again, no combination of both settings brings the desired dynamic adjustment back.
I'm using current Pale Moon v26.1.1, Windows 7 Desktop 32 bits.
