PC & specs:

Pale Moon 26.0.0. x64
Win7 Pro x64 on HP Probook 4740s
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
- Dual/switchable graphics: Intel HD4000 [integrated] + AMD Radeon 7650M [dedicated]
- 6GB RAM

Note: I'm using the default HD4000 card for PM.

Extensions:
AdGuard AdBlocker (Legacy) 2.1.2.
Better Privacy 1.68.1.
Biscuit 2.4.2.1.
Flash Disable 1.1.1.1.
Google Shortcuts 2.1.8.2.1.
Pale Moon Commander 1.7.3.

Plugins:
Silverlight 5.1.41105.0
Flash 20.0.0.235 - DISABLED 99% of the time in favor of HTML5

The problem: Ok, soooo... the close tab button disappears on the 4th tab when that tab is the active one, but only when there are 5 tabs or less open. The close button appears when I hover over the place where it should be rendered, then disappears once I move the cursor. See screenshots below:

Four tabs open, close button missing when 4th tab is active:

Four tabs open, close button present when 4th tab not active:

Five tabs open, close button still missing when 4th tab is active:

Six tabs open, close button present when 4th tab is active:

I haven't changed any setting between version 25.x.x. and the upgrade to 26.0.0. The bug is a minor inconvenience, but still confuses me when browsing due to me being used to see the little [x] on all tabs all the time. Any help?

Did you have the problems with the standard Pale Moon theme?

The 'x' looks faintly visible to me when viewing the image full size. It looks like the opacity change from being active coupled with the background at the fourth tab position makes it too bright to see a grey and translucent 'x'. PM26 changed the images for the 'x', that is why it is PM26 specific (the larger tab spacing could have an affect too). Tabs get shrunken down at more than 5, so the fourth tab ends up at a different spot.

You could use a different theme, or do some tweaks to settings/userChrome to chance how the active tab looks relative to others or how the close button box itself looks.

If you are like me and use middle mouse click to close tabs, it shouldn't be an issue anyway.

*facepalm*

Yeah, the issue was with my theme. It so simple it never occurred to me, especially because I only encountered the "bug" after the update to 26.0.0. Well, consider the "problem" solved. Thanks guys.
