- Your Operating system: Windows 10
- The exact version of Pale Moon you are using (desktop/portable. 32/64 bits, exact version number): Version: 25.8.1 (x86)
- Basic hardware information if relevant: CPU, graphics card, amount of RAM: Intel Core i5-6300HQ CPU @ 2.30GHz, 16.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
- A description of the problem: I just got a new laptop, a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 and it appears that Flash player UI objects are coming up very tiny in Pale Moon, but not in Edge or IE (see the attached images). I am not having this problem on the other computers I use, all with Pale Moon, so I think it has something to do with the hardware specs. There appears to be a similar bug on the Mozilla Bugzilla. I have experienced this on both YouTube and on Staple's Copy & Print center. Also, I'm not sure if it's related, but my minimize and close buttons on the top right are also shrunken.
- Bugzilla bug number if found: bug #982635
- Steps to reproduce the problem: Load up any YouTube video with this computer
- Expected result: UI elements are normal sized
- Actual result: UI elements are VERY small

Re: Flash UI is very tiny on my new Laptop
Hmm.. well I think you made a mistake with the bug number because that's a locked bug (unless you're part of the MozSec team
)
There are some related bugs though, but at first glance it seems this is a High DPI issue with Adobe software and in their court. But I can see if there's some sort of workaround for this.
bug #1116389
bug #1128632
This is still an issue in Firefox 43 as well.

Re: Flash UI is very tiny on my new Laptop
You're right. I accidentally used the Support page # for the bug number. Sorry for the confusion. As you found, 1116389 was the bug I was looking for.
And, yeah, I thought it was an Adobe issue at first, but, as I mentioned, Edge doesn't seem to have the issue, so I suspect it is something on the Mozilla side of things. I hope you can figure it out.

No, it's Adobe's issue.Ragnatz wrote:You're right. I accidentally used the Support page # for the bug number. Sorry for the confusion. As you found, 1116389 was the bug I was looking for.

IE uses an ActiveX control which doesn't have this issue, and Chrome uses a pepper-api version which I think also has this fixed already. It's not on the Mozilla side of things but with some hackery it may be possible to compensate. The root cause remains Adobe not using proper device scaling in their NPAPI plugin, though.

For the record, Adobe claims to have solved this issue:

Re: Flash UI is very tiny on my new Laptop
I downloaded the new version, but it sounds like from the documentation that the browser needs to support the zoom features.
Re: Flash UI is very tiny on my new Laptop
No, the NPAPI plugin (Flash) needs to support the zoom features that are advertised by the browser.

Re: Flash UI is very tiny on my new Laptop
Well, I'm not seeing a change since downloading the new flash plugin. Is there an extra step I need to perform?
