Slow response time with WordPress Custom Sidebars Plugin

As a web designer I use PaleMoon (Version: 25.8.0 (x86) on a 64bit machine) as my browser of choice for my design work. What I will describe is also a problem in FireFox.

I design mostly for WordPress and one of the plugins I use a lot is Custom Sidebars (https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/). It allows to me to create multiple sidebars and assign them to individual pages, posts, categories, taxonomies, etc. It works great.

The problem is when I use Custom Sidebars plugin in FF or PaleMoon the response time is terrible. I click to open a widget and it takes 10-20 seconds for it to open. I try to drag a widget and I get the same delay. I try to type some code or text into a widget and get the same delay, over and over again. It's very frustrating. But in Chrome there is no problem at all. So whenever I have to use the Custom Sidebar plugin I do it in Chrome.

Not sure if this is related but... A while back,I contacted the developer about the slow mouse wheel scrolling and they said "This is a known issue with the scrollbar js library that this plugin is using and we are working on it to fix it." (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mou ... ?replies=7). The response time for the scrollbar is a bit improved but still not as good as Chrome.

Does anyone have any insights or suggests on what can be done about this?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'm afraid I have no suggestions to offer. It obviously tickles something wrong in the gecko family of browsers, but without in-depth analysis of the actual code of the wordpress plugin, there really isn't anything I can suggest.

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid it wasn't a simple fix or it would have been addressed already. I think I'll also post over on FF forum and see if anyone there has some other thoughts.

Thanks again!
