Extra context menu items for links on MDN

Unread post by adesh » 2017-09-24, 09:31

URL: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP

When JavaScript is disabled on MDN, two extra options appear in the context menu for anchor elements in the webpage. They are - "Edit page" and "View page history". For example, right-click on the "application-layer" link on the given URL and see for yourself.
Clicking on these options does nothing, only context menu vanishes as it should. Other options work as intended. Enabling JS removes these options (and changes some styling, but that should be irrelevant).

What are these menu items? What are they supposed to do and why are they doing nothing?

Thank you, JustOff! Now I feel stupid for being unable to find this on my own.
It comes as a surprise to me that HTML has become has so powerful in recent years. I had a feeling that modifying something like a context menu can only be done by the privileged code.

I see both context menu options with JS enabled, and they both function as listed. Nothing I need, but they could be handy little additions for MDN editors.
