Mailnews-16.0.1

Unread post by wildbill5891 » 2013-11-25, 03:52

I am new to your e-mail client Mailnews-16.0.1. I am trying to set it up.
I am getting an error message "mailserver e-mail address
isn't an Imap4 mail server" Could someone tell me in "plain english" what an Imap4
mailserver is ? I would like to use Mailnews because it is 64bit. I am currently using
a 64bit version of Microsoft Outlook, and I have used Mozilla Thunderbird for years
without a problem.

Have a little patience. Someone who uses this program will probably chime in. As for me, I don't use it so I can't help you.

Well, first, you get the error because you are putting an e-mail address in a server field (If you have used Thunderbird for years you should know what goes where?)

As for IMAP: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=What+is+an+IMAP+server%3F

Thanks Night Wing ! Usually when someone posts on these bulletin boards, you get a response within a couple hours.
I really don't want to use Outlook ! I have a computer that is 64bit and I wanted to use as much 64bit software as
possible.
