interlink-52.9.8194.Linux_x86_64-gcc3-gtk2 anyone?

Unread post by Raava » 2023-10-06, 00:17

I have interlink-52.9.8194.linux-x86_64-gtk3 as package and quite okay with it, but I would like to switch to interlink-52.9.8194.Linux_x86_64-gcc3-gtk2

Unfortunately, the original URLs are all dead, e.g.
https://storage.binaryoutcast.com/inter ... es/latest/

Trying it via AUR also fails since they rely on the original source tar ball which is unavailable.

https://pkgs.org/search/?q=interlink gives only one hit to an outdated version: interlink-52.9.7762-1pclos2021.x86_64.rpm (Not even obvious if that's gtk2 or gtk3)

archive.org has the WINNT binaries for 52.9.8194 saved, but only older outdated versions of the Linux binaries:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://projects.binaryoutcast.com/interlink/releases/latest/*

Has anyone downloaded this file
https://web.archive.org/web/20220822213 ... /download/
64 bit XZ Compressed TAR Archive (GTK2)
Version: 52.9.8194
interlink-52.9.8194.Linux_x86_64-gcc3-gtk2.tar.xz

(highlighting by me)
and is willing to share it?

What about this link?

https://storage.binaryoutcast.com/pub/i ... es/latest/
That works, I did not know about storage.binaryoutcast.com/ . Thanks so much! :)

Update:
Just downloaded the file as mentioned above, and the old sha256sum matches, so all is well.

You have to go around that site for a bit, clicking on "Interlink" gets you nowhere since that links goes to http://thereisonlyxul.org/#
Instead of, e.g. going to https://storage.binaryoutcast.com/pub/i ... es/latest/ or at least https://storage.binaryoutcast.com/pub/interlink/ :?:

It was the Binary Outcast drop down at the top with the "BinOC/Storage" link... but yeah not sure why the Interlink link goes no where.

Just saying I don't have any particular knowledge of Binary Outcast or anything, just looked at the site for 10 seconds and found the link you needed. :P

It looks like "https://storage.binaryoutcast.com/pub/interlink/" is now inaccessible along with "https://binaryoutcast.com/".
Is this a sign that Interlink is now fully dead?
How much longer might it be okay to still use Interlink?

I suggest you move over to Epyrus instead.

It is a certificate issue, try:

http://storage.binaryoutcast.com/pub/interlink/

Laptop 2: Windows 10 32-bit, Atom Z3735F @ 1.33GHz, 2GB, Intel HD Graphics.

It is truly a sad thing that a person as gifted as Tobin has dismantled himself to such an extent through his intolerance. I hope he gets back on his feet somehow. And that somehow, somewhere he appears again as a changed person.

Off-topic:
Being intolerant would be a choice he liked to follow.
Anyhow, it is a sad state of affairs not knowing if the most recent interlink-52.9.8194.Linux_x86_64 is hardened against CVE-2023-5217 and CVE 2023-4863. :(
